Help for Disappearing Messages

I've been running a solo league under ootp 17 for months with no problem. I back it up regularly.

For some reason my messages have disappeared and I didn't delete them. I do run the league in sync between my laptop and desktop but I've never had a problem before.

So I must be doing something wrong. Any help is appreciated.

1) Have you run a defrag, virus scan or any other process that could quarantine or remove files?
2) Have you looked in the OOTP17->Saved Games-> messages folder?
Have you opened any of the text files in there? I have 1922 in mine at the moment.
Are you sharing the same drive on the two computers?

1) Have not run a defrag or any other scan since this started.

2) I went to the messages folder and there are 221 messages in it that are not showing up in the actual game. I opened a few and they are ok.

Very weird stuff...
