Is Steam version better?
I don't do steam, not sure why just never have. Is the steam version of ootp better? What is the benefits of playing on steam? Also, would I be cooler or earn more street cred if I buy it on steam?

It's better for OOTP for you to buy it direct I figure, since then Steam isn't taking a cut. The only reason to buy steam is convenience. It is nice having all your games in one place with automatic patching and being able to download them wherever.

I assume mods will be easier, as well as screenshots and videos that are already accessible.

No, but if you've ever had the urge or need to be like David Watts, buy the Steam version...Fa Fa Fa Fa, fa fa fa fa.

Not sure I understand your question. OOTP is OOTP. I know it is St. Patrick's day and I am not as sober as I would like you to believe, but I don't understand your question. OOTP is the same regardless where it is purchased.

is it crisper, cleaner, less likely to freeze. Its a simple question, had you not had green beer.

No, it's the same game really, just a different platform.

Steam can offer a better exchange rate. It'll be cheaper in CDN on Steam so I'll be waiting to buy it there.

Steam
Pros: You can have the game on all your computers that have Steam. Cons: When a patch is released you have no choice on Steam, it will be install on your game. And last version we saw a few patches that were not up to par and it was frustrating that there were no option to NOT have them installed automatically. |

I see no reason to go with Steam at this time, and the four-day release gap is a killer this year.

Same game... Easier with Steam when you change your computer more than two times, but you missed the addon central (which is why I will probably get OOTP 18 directly from OOTP Developments this year).

Good point -- I liked the steam keys since it was nice to have it available on Linux (which was more of an "in case" scenario). But the addon central and the presence of the developers here in the forums made me go directly here. A lot of the fun is the forum anyway. There's quite a buzz and it's interesting to read about what other people are doing. Still, it would be nice to have a Linux version available (it's a wierd situation having the license separate and now the lack of the Steam key - for whatever reason - no longer bridges the gap).
