Not able to control team
I set myself up as Manager and General Manger ( plus Commissioner). Then setup my lineups and pitching rotations. The next day I see that my lineups and rotations are changed. The only way to lock them in is to use the 7 day lineups?
Also. I see that in the off season the game is giving out offers to free agents without my permission. I cancel the offer and the next day there it is again. How do I obtain control? |

Menu bar on the right side of screen. Manager Options, then click on Control and Auto-Play Options, there you pick who or what controls the different areas of the team...
For teams that you are not the manger of, go to League Options on the Menu bar on the right side of the screen, select League Options, in the middle of that page under Roster Options there are several choices to help you control the other teams... |

Thanks txranger but I don't think that is the problem. I have ALL of the duties listed under my name. I am the Manager and GM and Commissioner. I have made no offers to any free agent however, when I advance the game one day suddenly I see that SOMEONE from my front office has given an offer to a free agent.
Worst of all it is a bad deal! Why do offers go out when I did not authorize them? Am I the boss or what? Same goes for line up changes that I make. Unless I individually set the game strategy for each individual player and "lock them down" to a starting position, the game changes my lineup every time I turn around. Frustrating. |

Are you actually the manager of a specific team?
If not, then you need to follow what I said in my second paragraph and go to League Options, and make your choices to give you control and not allow the AI to make changes... |

For your own team:
Team Settings: Right above the owner's name is Roster Functions. There is a box to check to not allow AI roster changes. For the league as a whole: League Settings also has an option to not allow AI roster changes. I frequently use those settings, and they work as advertised.

txranger and swampdragon: Thanks for your advice. Yes I had set myself up as a manager of my team and set the team control for the lineups as myself, however, I noticed that I had checked the box for "Do Not Disturb" under the auto play functions. When I unchecked this it seemed to stop the AI from taking over my lineups. Having said this I think Swampdragons tip to check the box on the team settings page so that the AI can not change rosters is a good one. I never noticed that setup option. Thanks to you both.
As GM I am still not in total control of the free agent contract offers. They go out to players that I have not contacted even though I am set to control this but I am not as concerned about that. I will live with it. Thanks again. |
