My memory needs a Restore from backup function

Help! I recently lost my computer and am trying to get things back on track with a long running league. For some crazy reason , I cannot seem to get to where I can get the restore from back up function to work. Would somebody be able to go through step by step how to help me complete the process? I would be most appreciative. I guess since it has been so long since I have had to do this it just shows how stable that OOTP has become. Thank you.

here's link to a post, where RchW did a step by step, with picks on how to back-up and restore. (you may need to read a few posts to get to one that applies, but it's all in the post somewhere as i recall.) Hope this helps and good luck.

I think I am going to try the way he recommended. Would someone be able to point me to where the saved games are stored in Windows 10? still trying to become familiar with it as my OS. Thanks.

in Win 8 the default place for your files and backs is is C:\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 17\backups ..... i don't know but suspect Win 10 uses the same.
that is assuming you back-upped the game and just used the default settings. if you used a custom place for your game, it's wherever you created that place. .... Good luck.

just a question ... since you lost your computer, i assume the game and any back-up you made would be on that computer, correct?. A new game install on Win 10 won't restore your previous game. You'd need to have access to the files on the other computer to be able to restore that game ... Maybe i am misreading.

Sorry for the delay in response. Been pretty busy lately but in regards to your question, I backed up my game on a flash drive so fortunately I
still have access to the back up files.

do a search with "*.lg" .. without quotes to copy/past *.lg

from My computer or the harddrive that you know it's on...

as far as navigating in-game, it's kinda poopey, use the "up" button etc to traverse out of that sub-directory...e.g. may need to get to C:\ to get to where you're going.

just read the location bar left to right where you fond the ".lg" directories. nothing else on your computer is likely ot have an lg extention. if you've installed multiple times it may find multiple locations though - if you didn't keep things the same.
