Super teams.......
1998 Minnesota Twins
1B John Olerud 2B Jeff Bagwell 3B Eduardo Perez SS Chipper Jones RF Albert Belle CF Ken Griffey, Jr LF Barry Bonds DH Rusty Greer That's about 5 perennial MVP's on one team. EDIT: I wrote this to see if anyone else had examples of a super all-star team coming together like this through your simulations.

Have you got the right "B". Bagwell never played 2B. Did you mean Biggio?

For some reason, it has had Bagwell as a 2B from the start. I went in & edited it to try & force him to 1st w/o upsetting the computer's "plans" for the season. Hasn't worked. From the Yanks, to the Marlins & now to the Twins, he stays @ 2nd. BTW, I forgot to mention Carlos Delgado as the catcher. In the future, I'm going to try & fix some of these errors when the players get drafted.

Carlos Delgado was actually a catcher in the minors and even played 2 games in MLB. Though yeah obviously he didn't stick there.
Bagwell played 3B in the minors. Not sure where 2B came from. Weird. Obviously that team is crazy good. |

Crap. Just looked at their bench.
C Bobby Bonilla 2B Mike Greenwell SS Shawon Dunston RF David Justice I'm going to have to do something about what teams spend the most money. Minny has gotten out of whack.

I'm not sure how you're getting such a super team in your league. The "superest" team I've had so far in my 45 year random debut historical league is the 1914 Brooklyn Robins, who went 109-53, with an expected record (based on run differential) of 112-50 (I use a 162 game schedule every year, and have since I started this league in 1901). They scored 774 runs and allowed 495, and this is in a run environment based on the 1984 MLB season (I base my league totals off of that season for every season I play in this league). Their main strength was their five man starting staff (strategies also based off of 1984), and the fact that only five different starters made starts despite injuries being set to "High (Modern Day Realistic)" in this dynasty. Here are the players who had 4.0 WAR or higher on that team and some of their stats.
3B Bob Meusel: .307/.333/.536/.869, 148 wRC+, 28 HR, 110 RBI, 103 R C Pat Donahue: .253/.344/.423/.767, 115 wRC+, 18 HR, 74 RBI, 64 R SP Kelvim Escobar: 34 GS, 21-10, 2.62 ERA, 2.78 FIP, 214 K SP Don Drysdale: 34 GS, 18-8, 3.06 ERA, 2.89 FIP SP Allie Reynolds: 33 GS, 17-12, 2.77 ERA, 2.93 FIP, 219 K SP Brian Holman: 31 GS, 19-6, 2.12 ERA, 3.09 FIP SP Frank Viola: 30 GS, 20-8, 3.21 ERA, 3.17 FIP As you can see, there are some good names there. Drysdale's a RL HoFer, but not exactly a collection that would make you go "Oooh...Super Team!". Yet, they're the best team I've seen yet, and they didn't manage to win the World Series in the annual crapshoot playoffs. |

In my yankees save I had a super team because of the money that they have. I had Trout and Harper on the same team. Sonny Gray and Jose Fernandez (RIP) as the anchors of the staff. It was a few years ago (in game) now so I don't remember the rest but yeah the team was stacked had 120 wins and won the championship. Very fun time though.
