Minor suggestion that would help online play
If a commish edits a player, can something on his history show that he was edited and the date it happened? Should be easy enough to code in.

Maybe there would have to be another list that tells you all the user made changes. That way it couldn't be tampered with.

But what if the commish goes outside the confines of the game itself to edit the player? It's impossible to completely prevent commish edits.

The issue is the same as Blue Tooth, the internet and email systems. They were not designed with security as a major factor in the beginning and rewriting the system to negate or severely minimize the need for trust is expensive in terms of time and energy.
I would love to see a system that can severely limit the possibility of a commissioner or GM cheating but I think the resources needed are not worth the result.

Of course we all know that it impossible to prevent cheating especially if the commish knows how to edit code. But I don't understand that argument that since it's impossible to completely eradicate it, we shouldn't want to take some kind protection measures. So since a burglar can break into my house if he really wanted to, I shouldn't have locks?

This happens in Madden online connected franchises. Shouldn't be too hard to code.

A trace would be great, it means very little, not nothing but little.

Why stay in a league where this is even a suspicion? Unless you're just suspicious of everyone and have a low level of trust, then that sounds like a you problem.
