DiMaggio hits 59 HRs in 61 games
In my fictional National Baseball League, I decided to import Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio into the 1936 draft pool for kicks and giggles. Williams was selected first overall by the Washington Senators and reported to the single A Santa Ana Swordfish. The Chicago Captains passed on Dimaggio (opting instead to a take a fictional pitcher) before the Baltimore Orioles snatched him up third overall. Dimaggio reported immediately to the big league team and proceeded to tear up the Federal League. In just 61 games, he hit 59 home runs!!!That means that he almost hit a home run in every single game. That is incredible!!! I wonder if I did anything wrong when I imported him into the league. I unchecked the box that said “Keep selected season’s statistics in player career stats” (the selected season was 1936). I based current ratings on real stats and based potential ratings on peak seasons of career. Keep in mind that the ratings are hidden from me because I play stats only. As far as my league settings, nothing would cause DiMaggio's torrential half-season. League strategy, AI, and stats modifiers are automatically re calculated every season. I did not edit Joltin' Joe besides changing his facegen. Any thoughts? I certainly have never seen anything like it before.

I wonder if the ballpark factors had anything to do with this. If you notice his doubles look way low. Historically he hit 44 doubles in 1936 and 15 triples to go with 29 HRs. In your replay, a lot of those extra base hits may have become HRs in a different ballpark.

too bad you didn't do the 162 game schedule and see how many he would have hit and that would have been interesting to see

Ballpark factors might have been one of the problems, but I just think that both DiMag and Ted were just much further along than their fictional counterparts. When I checked the editor, both of their overall power numbers were over 120 (on a scale of 1-250). No other player was over 40. I decided to decrease their power numbers a little bit. BTW, Joe only played 61 games in '36 because he was just drafted. Here are their career numbers through 1950:

Just curious I have never seen injury status as "Wrecked", have no idea what it means; thanks in advance.

Wrecked is one step worse than fragile. It means that Joe and Ted have had so many injuries in their career that they are really banged up and injury prone.
