Adding New League in Offseason

Not sure where to put this, but I am very confused. I've added a new fictional league to my game at the start of the offseason. The teams in this league all show finances for the current calendar year as opposed to the upcoming baseball season like the other leagues in my world. They have been signing for example one year contracts that appear to expire after the season that has already been played.

Is this the way it's supposed to be? Will this league forever show as playing a season one year behind the rest of the leagues in my game? Is there in any way to fix this? Do I need to start over and create the new league after the first of the year?

Very confused and frustrated...please help.

it may correct it's self as you continue on. That's why when I add a league to a current game I usually do it around January 1st early in the new year.

Well, I advanced past the new calendar year and it did not adjust itself. So, what I did was create a new league event for the preseason to start. This has corrected everything that I can see so far except for one small cosmetic issue. The players that signed a contract before this change still show their current year salary as being from the prior year in the history tab on their profile. If this is the only issue and nothing else pops up I am happy to just move on and forget it.

If there is a next time, I will be sure to set up the new league after the first of the year.
