DPC Watchdog Violation crash

I've been playing the latest build since it was posted, but have run into a crash that I can't get around. When trying to load a game, the status freezes at 39% (loading coaches). Eventually, I get the new BSOD. Also, when I try to load an older game, (started in OOTP16, but I have carried over to 17), all the messages are missing, and there is some other bad data. All my drivers are up to date, and nothing new has been installed that I can think of. Anybody overcome this, or a similar problem?

Is any other software on your computer having problems or just OOTP 16 and 17?

How old is the computer?

Any chance your hard drive could be dying? Might want to run a disk scan and see if there are any bad sectors.

No other programs causing problems and no other indications of bad solid state drive. I can play a new OOTP game normally. I did have a problem with my printer and reinstalled the HP drivers, but that ended up being a hardware problem.

Run a defrag?
Have you tried copying the .dat files into another league folder and seeing if that fires up?

You might not want to do a defrag if it's a solid state drive. Google "defrag ssd" for discussions about it.

If OOTP is the only one misbehaving, and it's only those specific files, unfortunately they might be corrupt.

Do a full backup. Change the file name. Delete the original file, then restore. No guarantees but it has worked for me twice with an apparently corrupt file.
