Simulation Mode in League Play

Does this take the players from the current roster at the current Rotation status (i.e. if #5 Starter slated for next start will start series)? Does it consider players on IR? 40 man rosters when simulated in September?

What is the difference when selecting Playoff or Elimination?

Does the computer handle the sims differently for Regular, playoff or elimination?
