Power potential
Is there anything built into player development that ties gap power into homer in power?
In real life, a prospect that is able to drive a lot of balls into the gaps(gap power) should eventually be able to start driving them into homeruns. All it takes is a little adjustment to the launch angle. So does OOTP mimic this by helping power to develop better player already has a very high gap power rating?

I see where you are coming from and it makes sense. However, just thinking out loud, but what about good speed, low power hitters who can stretch singles into doubles, and doubles into triples? Many of them are not line drive hitters bouncing hits off the wall, but will get their share of extra base hits.
Of course, it is possible that my understanding of "gap power" is misguided. But I always have a large contingent of hitters who have next to zero home run power, but with some gap power, can churn out a few extra base hits due to speed. Last edited by MikeS21; 01-24-2017 at 03:52 PM. |
