Are the anti-cheat mechanisms for online leagues or only for the new challenge mode? I have quit most of my leagues due to suspect commissioners and would be very happy if this new feature is applied to online leagues.

I don't think we've changed anything there. Realistically if you don't trust the commissioner, you're probably not going to have a very good experience in a league even if we added some more anti-cheating measures.

And yes, with the tournaments, we'll have some new playoff formats that can be used in regular league or association playoffs. They won't be exactly the same, but we'll likely have playoff formats available similar to what's being used in the upcoming WBC (where the first playoff round is a round-robin tournament) and what was used in the previous WBC (which is a sort of modified double-elimination tournament)
Nice. So could we have a "State of Origin" tournament, featuring teams made up of players from a certain state? So say the final might be Texas vs. California?

If so I may have to revive my "English counties as regions" mod...

In the past versions of the game, if I recall the start date in the game was determined through the earliest league opening day. In this years game will that be the case, or will it be based off of the WBC start date?

Importing Negro Leaguers

Where will we be able to find the correct file names for individual Negro League players to properly import them into the game? Will it be how Seamheads does it?

Will Cuban negro leaguers also be included?

Awesome achievement, congrats!

Some reasons to say "Thanks" to Marcus and The Team

.....for all your hard work
.....for caring about the product
.....for listening to those who use it
.....for being accessible to your customers

and perhaps most of all,

.....for not resting on your laurels

I've pre-ordered and have circled March 24th on the calendar!

You should be able to find the ids in the player's id field once you've started a historical league. So you may need to create a league for reference purposes. There might be an an easier way though, hopefully Spritze or Markus can weigh in on that.

Do you mean American Negro League players born in Cuba? Or do you mean the old Cuban League itself? The answer to the first should be yes, as far as I know the second would be no.

Again, Spritze should know more though.

What about namelists? 40 is way too small for the international tournaments, because if we want the baseball "from around the world", names should be authentic and believable.

I don't know of any changes there.

I'd love to see some improvements to the namesets, but that might need to be more of an OOTP19 feature.

May have missed it already. If I did, please forgive me, but does this mean that I can finally do a WBC tourny before I get into my Met franchise? Is the tournament mode separate from the franchise or could it be tied into one?

Well, you can do a WBC style tourney for sure, we don't have the actual WBC license though.

The tourney can take place within your franchise's universe.

Thanks! Can't wait! By far the best sports sim/franchise anything out there. Appreciate all the work the team does.

I have a couple of questions.
Will there be alternate jerseys in the game so that when you play it out the game randomly chooses a home or away alternate?
did you increase the different types of playoffs such as double elimination et al?
Will the AI still cheat like it always does?...just kidding

Negro Leagues

Will they operate similarly to an independent league in historical sims? i.e. buying players off of teams, or will they need to be traded for?

What year does the Negro League start?

Is there anything in place to prevent crossover before Jackie Robinson, or will the moment the likes of Satchel Paige is signed by a Negro League teams the Yankees will snatch him up?

Last, but slightly off topic, are there any historical rosters for the international leagues?

More like Indy Leagues

1920

Yes, you can prevent crossover. You can also end the color barrier early though if you want to

Not this year

Thanks for the answers! I meant the old Cuban League, but I see we'll get those Cuban players who played in the American Negro Leagues.

Awesome upgrade.
