This is a product. We are customers. All of us will buy this game...why do i say this...because we all read or post things on this board!
There are some people that sound like a bunch of babies on this board. The harsh reality of this is that things are going to be a certain way. The company is small..They can't be finaicially successful if they blow their wad and make bookelts, box covers and manual Cd's instead of good games. They are choosing the license route. Accept it! All of their other games are available via download....You as customers have the right to buy or not buy...your choice...that is beauty of entrepanuerism!!....but my bet is that you'll buy....why ( in no particular order)..... 1. Impulse, 2. Curiosity 3. The love of boxing!! 4. Fans of the trunzo's past games 5. OOTP ( the games) customers crossing over and last but not least 6. Because you have vested 8 months of energy on this board!! Like I said...Im buying! |

Before people spout off too much, just be thankful that the game isn't being handled like Virtual Pool3 where you can only rent the license over the internet on a month to month basis.
You can't expect them to commit fiscal suicide by issuing a product without heavy piracy protection.

I know they need to protect themselves from piracy but why do I have to pay the price to do that? It is their budget, not mine. They should pay the cost for piracy protection and not pass the disadvantage on to the customer.
I agree with Almo, I will live with it and buy the game. That doesn't mean I have to agree with it. Kevin, I would never buy a computer game on a month to month basis. That is silly. Obviously the creators of Virtual Pool have little ethics but it is the customer's fault for putting up with it. |

Steve your 100% correct.
The market ( that believe it or not ) is US. If we voted NO by keeping our money in our pockets they would soon give you what you demanded - that's business sense. You think they would pack it all in and retire - NEVER they would find away around the problem. Its the same as when you buy a car, the seller needs you more then you need him.

This is getting crazy. I've sat by and watched this forum go bonkers. It's a freaking game.
But if its that important to you. Cars and games don't match in terms of sells. Sure the company needs you, but how many quality boxing games are there on the market? I wouldn't imagine as many as there are car dealerships. This company goes belly up Man, am I glad I don't develop these gigs. Anyway. I sure hope it works out for all of you. |

You of course like all are entitled to your point of view, but some here see it as 100% pure money in there pockets, and all they are asking for is as they see it, is value for there money. So in spite of your words "its a freaking game" Please remember "Its only our freaking hard earned money in our pockets" Company's trying to take our money of course love the attitude that your adopting, In fact any salesman would. By the way i should have added, i am not just talking about this Company. I know of course very few others produce quality boxing games. Last edited by wildhawke11; 08-22-2003 at 10:08 PM. |

I love Wildehawke..keep it up. This is the first real noise we have heard about this game. The great thing is...every one is entitled to their own opinion. Nobody has to agree with me..but I am tired of being in the dark. I feel now..with my friggin voice..Alamo pal...we have gotten things out in the open.. Its been dormat because the Company...not Jim has kept us in the dark. However, with my strong voice, like it or not...they have come forward and if they are true to their word in getting this game out with keeping us informed I am happy because it my dollar.
With respect to Jim and Tom who I admire, this is not daggers at you. I admire your game so much that is why I am voicing my opinion on this. We are all human. I make mistakes. You guys have always produced great games and I have said. My beef is with your Company. I havent heard enough from them. Now I have. I am satisified..unless they blow a tire and pull up their tent. I am guessing they wont. People on here think I dont know what I am talking about..this company, etc. Well maybe I do and maybe I dont. I do know when I am kept like a mushroom. Think about guys look at the volumes of strings we have got about this game now. Like it or hate we are talking more about the game itself and lets hope we hear the words..its time to buy it. Then we can close these strings for good. Thats all! |

To all you guys who are complaining about the game not being out yet, if it's released and there are bugs or gross inaccuracies, within 30 minutes of release there will be 762,459 posts on this board screaming WHY DID YOU RELEASE THE GAME BEFORE IT WAS READY???!!!???
Cool out, guys. Play something else for a while. Spend time with family. Read. |

Really, the issue here is the elicense pure and simple. I know I'm on record saying I don't care when the game is released, I don't care about not getting a cd (I can burn one just as easily) and I don't care about not getting a manual. None of those things are really an issue for me.
The quality of the game is not an issue for me either. About 25 years ago the Trunzo's produced the board game. I had many board games in those years but Title Bout is the only one I still play. That alone gets my confidence that the game will be a fun and realistic boxing sim. |

One comment about the name of this thread. Not OOTP or the Trunzos just a general statement.
NO, I won't stop demanding and it isn't whining. I'll probably buy like you say but that doesn't mean I'm going to roll over for whatever they put out. (don't mean to imply that the effort to do a great game isn't there, once again speaking in general terms here) Consumers in this country (USA) should get more demanding of our companies and products. We should have high expectations and ask those to be met. The general service and quality of products in this country would be much better if people didn't continually settle for crap. |

Point taken about this being the wrong thread. Sorry about that. I'm just a but confused, though. I have not been here (on this forum) for a week and then when I return I find not the usual friendly and education banter--and friendly dialogue between Jim T and the future buyers of his game--but trolling rants from spoiled little children. I used to enjoy this forum. I lurked here for a while in order to learn the culture and find out who the regulars are, so that I could eventually become a regular myself and post the type of comments that other people would want to read. But this forum appears to be degenerating into just another Internet cesspool. I really don't like cesspools. I want to regularly visit a friendly environment where I can learn something and perhaps develop friendships with the regulars. I guess this forum ain't it, so I'll stay the hell away. My advice to Jim Trunzo is this: ignore the loudmouth whiners and work on your game and release it when it's ready. I hope it's a good game and you sell lots of copies. I'll definitely buy it. Later guys (and kids--you know who you are). |

My advice to those who dont want to "spend their hard earned money" is that they can spend it else where. Go buy WCBM (which sucks)....there are no other boxing sims other than title fight 2001, WCBM, and the upcoming game we are talking about here
Good Luck in trying to find boxing happiness.....the demand way out weighs the supply! That is not to say that people cannot ask for modifications...but I have been on this board for 7 months and the trunzos seem like they have been more than accepting of feedback and suggestions. But this CD/CODE issue is a business decision....and they are a small business. They would be committing finaincial suicide by giving cd copies with no registration keys to people. Just because this is an issue with some people doesnt mean that the game is going to be deficiant. It will be a kick ass game...this discussion will be small when the game is on people's computers Almo |

Your proving his point wild.
He said Stop complaining because this and wcbmg is the only games! And your saying there good because there no one else out there. Right they are the only GOOD boxing sim! He is saying if they decides that there tired of hearing our mouths and shut down there company, what other boxing sim game our you going to get? This is the first sim company I know that listen to what you want done! People asked him ro add fighter's he did it, The wanted more rounds he did it. This game is the only boxing sim game I know, And they are working hard to make this game, sure I get mad sometimes, but what can I do? It's not like it's a baseball sim game. I can't just go to another game company. |

Eric, Antowin, Almo...my friends...I guess I am your wine and cheese list them.
I toned it down. I want the game. If truth though be known, and we all want the truth, you three are the biggest whiners and troublemakers on here. Bottom line, though, we all want the game..and in the end that is all that matters. I said my peace, its up to them, goodnight all! |
