We Want You: Join The OOTP Beta Team!

Have you always wanted to be involved in the sports game world? Out of the Park Developments is looking for beta testers for their upcoming Out of the Park Baseball 18, the follow-up to last year’s award-winning game and one of the most beloved sports game franchises in the world!

OOTP Developments is looking specifically for fans who can help us in the late stages of development to discover and report issues with OOTP 18. There are a number of areas of availability, based upon your specific skill set and desire. These include:

-Game options/interface
-Contracts/Financial/Roster AI
-Historical Play
-Roster team/Modern MLB Quickstart
-3D/In-game testing
-Online Play
-Text/PBP/Storylines
-News and Storylines
-New Features
-Other stuff too!

All we require is a love of baseball and a passion to make the follow-up to the 2016 Metacritic PC Game of the Year even better! We’ll do everything we can to make it easy and fun for you. This includes being part of a small team with a guide to help you be efficient, proper reporting techniques, and how to create various scenarios. Whether you’re using a PC, Mac, or Linux box, you can definitely help us and learn about sports game development at the same time!

These are unpaid positions, but every beta tester will receive a free copy of the final retail game for the platform of their choice and be listed in the credits for Out of the Park Baseball 18.

For more information or to apply, contact lukas@ootpdevelopments.com. Please indicate which of the bullet points listed above you’re most interested in, why you believe you’d make a great tester, and which platform (PC, Mac, and/or Linux) that you’re able to use.

If not, it's not a problem, but maybe just include a bit more info than you would otherwise!

Since I'm already getting a lot of emails (thanks guys!) just wanted to add one thing, if you currently have a forum account, please let me know what your handle is so I can check your post history.

If not, it's not a problem, but maybe just include a bit more info than you would otherwise!

Along with this, please be assured I'm closely reading every single message received, even if you don't hear from me right away.

I'm going to wait a few days to get as many folks as possible the chance to apply before I start narrowing the list down. I've been very impressed with the applications I've received so far though, thanks much!

I've never been a beta tester before, but I love OOTP so I'm happy to contribute.

Just to update everyone, I've received over 160 submissions so far and since we're hearing from so many interesting folks who would make great assets we'll probably extend the application period through the end of the weekend to see just who else we can hear from!

The downside to the above is that it means there are a lot of you who would make great testers and who've submitted impressive applications that we probably won't have room for this year.

I'll keep the applications all on file though, and even if you don't hear back now, you may just hear back in the future when new slots open up.

Thanks so much to all of you for your interest in and support of our game and for taking the time and effort to apply!
