Building Pitcher Stamina

Hello,
I was wonder how you build pitchers stamina?

I am in the draft and there is a pitcher with great upside for everything but he is a relief pitcher. I would like to try him out at SP.

If i stick him in the rotation will his stamina grow?

mostly random... even though their stamina rating doesn't change, when the role is rp or sp it is different... so the "build up" moving from rp to sp is a separate concept from the stamina rating. that rating is more like a "ptotential" rating, but it's also current ability. it moves for different reasons than development.

Role may affect it, but i lean toward a no onthat...either way, best to "force" a SP role in the minors, probably. however, i use SP as RP often early on, and i don't seem to lose stamina too often... seems like it's just as random as the SP.

all the typical side factors will play their typical role... so if they have a high work ethic they are more likely to improve, which includes stamina i'd assume.

i think they are more likely to go down as they age - makes sense right?

probably more liekly to get a bump early on than later, under same assumptions.

as with other ratings, how high or low it is can increase/decrease probabilty of a change, too... so it's a bit difficult to say for sure which factor is actually the influence when anything occurs. if it leans one way or the other, it's a small difference in this case.

i recently had a guy that i was hoping he'd build some stamina up (~40/100)... i get 3 war out of him pitching 70-100ip out of hte pen... i've have a new appreciation for a dominant LR with a high leverage secondary role. his stamina ticked up 2 pts (not much on my scale) over 3 years as a releiver... his stamina didn't decay as a reliever, his 3rd+ pitches seem to develop fine in this role too. more an dmore likely 100% random with minor effects from personality and the other stuff modeled in the game.

What does the scouting report say about his projected role? Does he have 3 or more pitches?
