Too Many Players on Active Roster

I hope I simply misunderstand a finer point in the rules, but I am playing as the Charlotte Checkers (AHL) and I am unable to play the game of the day because there are "Too Many Players on Active Roster"

I am currently at 24/25 with 20/20 players dressed. I have 19 players under 26 (the min is 12). I cant see any reason why I would get this error message.

Are you managing their ECHL affiliate (Florida Everblades) as well? That may be the source of the message.

I am in Path to Glory and I have sent a few players down. Do those players sent down on to the Everblades count against the active roster? Should I drop the scrubs?

Not on your active roster, but they do to theirs. Check their roster screen and see how many players they have. If that isn't it, we may need to have a look at the save to see what's going on.
