Another AI Evaluation Discussion

I have never been so close to having what I consider to be very good AI evaluation numbers, but I cannot decide between these two:

55/25/15/5

or

60/20/15/5

I realize there is not a very big difference, but I am at the point where I am attempting to "fine tune".

Anyone want to take a crack at it?

I haven't fiddled with AI evaluation settings in a while, but I'm curious. Why do you limit yourself to increments of 5? If you're down to fine tuning, why not consider all integers?

Well, I guess that's a good point.

I guess I could try something like :

60/22/13/5 or 57/22/15/5

my question is what are you really expecting the outcome to be? is it even possible for you to differentiate between 60/22/13/5 or 58/22/15/5? And how would you ever decide that one is better than the other? What are you using to measure?

Probably not...which is why my first two suggestions were rounded

sticking with 55/25/15/5

I feel the AI behaves pretty well with these settings.

Would it make it any sense at all to assume the developer has already designed out of the box evaluation numbers to achieve optimal "realism"? What type of evaluation baseline are you trying to get that doesn't match up with the standardized settings? Admittedly I only play historical, so player evaluation is obviously much easier with my play style than if one is playing fictional.

yes, and no. There are two different defaults...using the MLB setup, it's 65/20/10/5....but if you start a fictional league, I think it's something like 30/50/15/5

Hey guys,
I don´t want to open a new thread, so I´m using this one for a little question: is the option to set "Trading Frequency" gone??

Due to the manual is still there, but in-game I didn´t see it.

I'm not aware of a trading frequency setting. Checking v16 and v15 confirms nothing like that in previous versions.

Edit:

Found it in v14.

Thanks for letting me know. Because one has to scroll down to see it, I'd never have found it.

it's in 2 locations, depending. 1 spot during game creation, then they move it on you just to be tricky when you start playing the game. <joking>

i constantly have to sift through at least 2 screens before i find it. every once in a while a little fear and doubt creeps in that i changed it to my preferred setting and i have to take a look.

I think it is under options under League Settings. Otherwise under global settings.
