Players Unhappy With Team Chemistry

Hi guys, when all or most of your players are angry with team chemistry, what could be the problem? What things should I look to fix and how?

Thanks

Look at the character descriptions. You will have many guys with negative and few, if any at all with positive.

The starting pitcher "Impactful as a leader on and off the field" will help improving your clubhouse, the outfielder "not giving 100%" will not.

Identify which players are the bad apples. If they are stars, keep them, but you don't tolerate people like that in lesser roles. Trade them.

And look for good characters for roles with not as much on field playing time. Backup catchers, utility infielders, long relievers, 5th starters etc. which are comparably cheap and replaceable should be used to bring benefits to the clubhouse.

Ahh got it! But what players do I go through. Players that are on my major league team, active roster, AAA team or all of these?

Also when you say descriptions, do you mean look just at the personality or do I also go to the BNN page and look for high greed, low will to win and other things?

I personally care about my active roster. I'm pretty sure AAA does not matter except that your future MLB players will come from there. I'm not sure about the 40 man roster, but I don't keep AAAA players with bad character anyway. If you're replaceable, don't make trouble.

BNN page: The BNN page is more detailed than the description, but for me, usually the description is enough. I check the BNN page if I'm drafting and the description is neutral, sometimes it is important to know if the player is low average, average or high average in terms of work ethic and intelligence. However, just for clubhouse matters, I'll take the description 9 times out of 10.

There is also a third way: If you activate commissioner mode, you can check in the editor the exact character type a specific player has. I would consider that cheating if you do it for a guy that you should not know, but I think it is fair if you check the players you have in your organisation anyway.

Some of those players are the best on my team.

if they are good players, don't get rid of them, lol. if they are a bench player or some other non-integral part of your team, then lop them off.

more likely than not, you will eventually have a winning team, and winnnig makes everyone happy. possibly an extreme case of X number of rotten personalities could make a difference, so still do your due dilligence looking into team composition. i've recently turned off morale... i have not missed it. i still keep personalities on, though. i like how that affects development as opposed to a one-size-fits-all effect if it was turned off.

another option is a manager change. sometimes manager can actually lose control of the club house, so if you're losing because of chemistry, hire a no-nonsense manager

I have found that the game does a "check" if you will for how many "Leader" personalities you have on your team. If you have 1 or 2, you should be fine unless the entire team is cancerous, however, if you have none, you will find the clubhouse crying about lack of leadership or bickering. I usually sign backups and utility or relievers to be "Leader" personalities and you only need 2 or so to be effective. Its also worth noting that chemistry wont change instantly, its a process over the course of a season so give it some time to see the results.

Leaders are generally guys with High Leadership, Low Greed, High work ethic.

Then of course the manager route is always an option as well.

When you click on 'Players' etc, you can set up a 'Customize' view instead of default. So just check mark those six attributes you see on the BNN page such as Greed, Loyalty, etc. Then you have all the player's attributes listed and ranked if you want in a glance!

I find that type of view handy in the 35 round amateur draft because I don't have to open up any profile except maybe to read what the scouts say for the first few that I draft.....in conjunction with their ratings of course highest to lowest as my page view.

You may want to use that view to weed out some of your 'International' prospects before they get called up as well.
