The Player developments are downright awful, seems with every version and patch this system has gotten worse.
I have never seen so many talent drops in my online leagues than I do now. We are talking about 1st rders, BIG Prospects getting talent drops in all categories or seeing a talent increase in bating average and seeing a drop in batting average 1/2 months later??? This needs to be addressed. Last edited by NGBL_ALLSTAR; 08-17-2003 at 10:50 PM. |

ngbl, i do think the player development needs improvement aswell considering the fact that general manager skill is no longer being based from trading and good drafting, but rather every GM hopes for development when the simulation is done and this has nothing to do with their ability as a GM but rather if they ate their Lucky Charms for breakfast
there are teams that win yearly who continue to get the best developments and bad teams that continue to get nothing.. the randomness should be addressed .. good point though |

Even though 1st rounders (and other) face talent drops, there are several players who get talent boosts... I've had 3rd rounders (in a 5 round draft) end up more like 2nd rounders or even late 1st's... That happens in real life too... Mike Piazza is supposed to be a Hall of Fame catcher and he was drafted way down around the 75th round as a favor to his dad |

You're in enough online leagues, should a GM who gets a lot of player development be considered an incredibly good GM?
"Look at my ratings report its amazing!" But the fact is most of the GM's didn't do a thing to achieve this, it wasn't great drafting, it was merely the randomness of the game. The players were not predetermined to have developments, the game just decided one day that 'BAM' this kid is an allstar now after being terrible for so long. Some teams get this continuously. There has to be more emphasis on the actual ability as a GM and being able to scout the potential stars even if they are late round steals. |

Steve, Oh I love the game as it is.. I'm just hoping that in the future this could possibly be adressed because this raises the competitiveness of leagues and as a result peoples overall interest.
What I mean by competitiveness is that nobody is going to check the player development page first before any other page. Aswell nobody will complain when someone else continues to get devs over and over and at the same time the GM getting the devs is self proclaiming himself as god's gift to OOTP. Either way its still fun because it just makes it more challenging to face that adversity and go out and build your own team from scratch, trade and claw till you can rub it in their face that youre better and you don't even need the devs. Finally my 100th post also, can I get a dev and get bumped to the majors instead of this Double A stuff?

Here are a few things that i believe have been mentioned, therefore i will second the motion. These six ideas would make being a comissioner A LOT easier, and less time consuming.
-Letting GM's delete team emails. Very time consuming [for a commish], espically after Free Agency. If this option is not possible, then a delete all team emails button would be great.[password protected for commish only] -I like the idea of having a seperate page for player development ratings. I like to see who increased and decreased, i hate clicking on every team page to see it. - My biggest pet peeve is the trade screen. Normally after each sim i will process trades. It could be anywhere from 1 trade, to 10. The worst part is after each trade, the game automaticlly goes back to the standings screen. Then i have to click back on the trade screen. Why not just go back to the trade screen. It would make life a lot easier. - I also would like to see the trading of draft picks option. Also, trading of cash. Not something that you have to actully punch in[because i can see guys fat fingering an extra zero on accident. I was thinking of a trade cash button, once you click that the option comes up of 500,000, 1,000,000, 2,000,000, etc to 5,000,000. It also automaticlly takes it out of the teams cash, and deposits it into the other teams. - I would also LOVE to see the ability to export spring training files.

Enter salaries in $100,000 increments. Currently easy to make a mistake on adding all the zeros in a contract offer.
For example, the contract offer screens shows blanks followed by five zeros and you would simply enter 3 for a $300,000 offer or 15 for a $1.5 million offer -- $_ _, _ 00,000.
