Trading Block?

My season is almost over and I want to dump some guys. I have never used "on the block" or "available". What's the difference between the two??Does the AI react to this? Will I receive more offers during the winter meetings? I have only used shop a player in the past. Any input would help.

On the block means the a trade is more urgent for a player.

It's been a while since I did a league that wasn't an online league but from my recollection you will get more offers from the AI if they are listed as "on the block".
