Is FHM3 still on track for early release on Oct 14 for the people who pre-order, which is 4 days away.

I just don't want to be disappointed. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
It got fixes and tweaks as needed (basically everything we fixed/tweaked in modern mode also applies in fictional) and new additions as news types, streaks and so on show up in fictional as well (or the new tactic/role system, injuries, development, etc) but we did not add/change any options for creation of fictional leagues.

I canīt speak for every player but we try to have as accurate rosters as possible for the playable leagues. Your two examples are in the game and in the Devils franchise. If we have player missing, we will fix rosters of course.

Like in FM your GM/Coach has skills (he always had) and like in FM, in career mode you start with lower skills and raise them when gaining experience. The skills will help you e.g. with coaching, team management, negotiating, etc. In Sandbox mode you still have this skills in the background but they are raised on itīs own over time so the user does not have to bother about stuff like this.

You have both options. We donīt want people to play a team they donīt want to coach, so just pick e.g. your favorite team and start or choose from a few random offers in the beginning.

Since most people here know FM, I can use it as comparison: Path to Glory (a.k.a. career mode) is basically just like you would play FM (disclaimer: of course FHM is not nearly as deep as FM at this moment but the goal is to slowly evolve the mode into that direction with every update and new version). You canīt edit stuff, you canīt speed sim and you canīt let the AI handle everything. You still can ask your Assistant Manager to do the dressing or build lines if you wish but e.g. roster moves are always your responsibility. And limited is only for your GM/Coach, you can always continue with a new Coach/GM, it just looks strange when you compare with other (historical) greats and you have hundreds of GP more because you still are on the bench with age 120.

ALL 100 NHL seasons? Weren't we limited to starting at a later date in FHM2?

Isn't there a limited number of seasons in Path to Glory mode, I am confused a little bit ?

The season aren't limited.

What is limited is the length of the career you can have with any one manager. Your manager character will eventually retire.

You can keep playing indefinitely though, you'll just need to create a new manager to do so.

I understand fictional wasn't the focus but I was wondering if we can atleast this year use real NHL players in fictional mode? Sorry if this was asked already (didn't notice it), if not would it be too difficult to add??? That's the only thing missing for me. Wanting to know this before preorder, fingers are crossed Thanks in advance!

I get being bummed--I would be if history mode were removed. Then again, I'd be really frustrated if I put a huge amount of effort into organizing people to play history mode and then I couldn't continue every time an update came out, so I understand why they've done this. It sucks as I've had a long-standing date with Duranium for a Penguins and Scouts/Rockies/Devils rivalry, but isn't it better that it is included when they are confident the function can work properly? Give them time. This game has come a LONG way in a short time. That's my $.02.

I had really hoped I had finally found the platform for me (I judged this by the development of OOTP baseball). I fully expected by version 3 there would be an import option.

Not being able to import saves from a previous version is a game breaker for me and I can no longer support this game.
IME not being able to move saves between major versions is true of almost all games (eg- going from FHM1 to 2 to 3) and even in version updates within one title it is usual that saved games cannot be maintained. For years I've played the Europa Universalis series and other Paradox games and, unless they've changed quite a bit in recent years, their saved games did not transfer from version to version. They DID come up with a way to move your game across history (from EU, to Victoria, to Hearts of Iron) but this is a totally different kettle of whatchamacallits.

Out of curiosity, what games do you play that allows for this? Maybe OOTP have gotten far enough along to allow it, but i can't think of any war game or other sim I have played that allows this. Sims are just too complex. Now something with simpler saves like an arcade style game will likely allow this.... but this isn't an arcade game.

Almost anything is possible with enough effort. The question is: do you want them to put their time and effort toward this? Allocating time is a zero sum game my friend--if you want something done then you WILL lose time for something else. The only other option is to keep hiring more peeps and that's expensive?

I want to say that I'd prefer more like 35, but I don't know if any REAL hockey coach actually coached that long to justify that. Anyone know that sort of tidbit?

This is the all time coaching list, looks like 30 years is the top...with about 4.8 years being the average. So although rare, would love to have the cap be at least 35 just in case you have one of those special careers going, but anything in that area should be fine.
