Pitchers Control Issues
What is the best way to get my pitching staff under control as far as walk rates and wild pitches?
We are way ahead of all but one team as far as walks this season, some guys are more than double last years BB/9 rates. We also lead the league in WPs by almost 2x. Should I fire my manager or my pitching coach?

A quality catcher may be the solution.
A quality defensive catcher.

How far into the season? SP or RP? Where's it piling up?

It's early still, only 6 weeks in. Just think it's a little crazy to have the entire starting rotation this far off their norms. I've begun to see one guy revert back closer to his control standards of last year (although he's given up 13 HRs in 39 IN)
It's both, that's why I'm thinking it has more to do with my pitching coach. He was rated as Good when I hired him, but we all know how that can be miss leading.

I'd be surprised if the coach yielded that much influence. Unless there's a setting gone wild or some other unknown, it's a function of waiting it out and it'll settle in toward more normal behavior. Sometimes, I think the game has a way of baiting us into making knee-jerk decisions, when often it's just regression to the mean. FWIW
It may well be one of these guys has a terrible year, but I'd wager most will hit their hot streaks and things will even out as the season progresses.

if the have high control ratings, you are just experiencing normal things. thay may average 2bb/9 in their prime, but results each year can swing quite a bit... less so for the highly rated players, but still does ebb and flow, nonetheless.
if it's occuring regularly enough, you should consider your scout an idiot when it come's to that player's control. sell high or maintain as the situation dictates. a month, 2 months, even a year is a very bad thing to react to, if it is a well-rated pitcher with a good pitch selection and all the intangibles that go into a highly-successful starter. i.e. it's common to read that you should have a 3-pitch pitcher or more to be a starter - an this is very true... however, it's incomplete. I'm failry certain 3 fastballs (fb/sink/cut) is not an effective 3-pitch combination for a starter and possibly even a crappy RP, too. pitch selection may even affect walk-rate a minor amount, not sure.
