I have played 1000s of OOTP games, this was by far one of the best and most fun.

Epic game

this is just another example of why ootp will always be the best.

In the middle of a historical replay I decided to play out all 162 of this very fun 1977 Giants team I have.

Game 147 is an old school pennant race game with my giants 1 ½ back with a 2 game set at Candlestick vs the first place Astros. Pitching matchup is an all-time classic and should not only determine the Pennant, but likely the Cy Young as well.

For the Astros the flame throwing dominant ace JR Richard. 16-8 2.03 336Ks and coming off back to back to back sub 2.00 era seasons.

For me my new ace acquired in blockbuster offseason trade ever coming off multiple dominant seasons Nolan Ryan 20-7 2.24era 283Ks

Two best pitchers in the league head to head in a last two week must win (for me) pennant race game.

Sometimes games like this don’t live up, well this one did in almost every way. Giants take a 1-0 lead on a solo Darrel Evans HR and maintain lead in masterful pitchers dual that is only partially marred when Richard has to leave in 5th inning with minor injury. Astros excellent bullpen maintains the dual and in 7th inning complete unknown September callup with only 10 career Abs Bob Gorinski (IRL he is a career minor leaguer with 118 lifetime MLB atbats) hits a solo HR just over the CF wall off of Nolan Ryan to tie the game. Even with this being against me, it is just a classic moment.

Game continues into the 9th and with one out in bottom of the ninth – Darrel Evans hits a massive upper deck off the screen (thank you 3D mode – made this moment even better because of how no doubt about it this shot was) WALK OFF HOME RUN!!!!!! Giants ½ a game back.

What a game!!!!!
