Noob question about 60 day DL

How long can I leave a player on the 60 day disabled list? Does he have to be activated after 60 days even if he's still injured?

Nope, he just has to be there a minimum of 60 days. Don't have to activate him until he's healthy.

When you place a player on the 60, he must stay for 60.
You can move a player from the 14 to the 60, but obviously not the other way around.
When you place a player on the 60 he is removed from the 40-man roster to free a spot (but remember, when you try and reactivate him you will need a 40-man spot - just be aware).

Frankly, it has been a while since I played a solo game and I cannot remember if the game halts until you move a player off the DL (like when you are prompted to move a DFA player once his time runs out). Someone else can correct me.

In online leagues (I consider this a problem, but feel for Commissioners) the player can rot on the DL even after becoming healthy it seems.

Hope that helps you out?

Yes it does. If a player is both healed and his 15/60 days DL time is up, the game day cannot be advanced until the player is removed from the DL. Of course, if you don't want to make a spot for him on the active roster immediately, you can always send him on a rehab assignment.

I'm not 100% sure about the Minor League 7 day DL, but I think I have accidentally left guys there for a few extra days, and the game didn't care.
