Trying to start a league in 1875 with simulated stats from 2014 - how do I do this?

Hi all,

I'm having a ton of trouble getting realistic current-day simulated stats using the Historical Year and League Totals / Modifier tools. Can someone explain how to get modern-day stat totals in a league taking place in 1875?

The easiest way at game creation. When you create your game, choose 2014 settings and choose 1875 as the start date. IMPORTANT: Don't mark the box "Automatically adjust league strategy when advancing to new year" or it will likely mess things up with starting rotation size and number of pitchers the AI teams carry.

Hmm, I thought I had done that, but I kept ending up with insane amounts of offense during my test sims. I'll save a template and try again - maybe I missed that option.

Hmm, okay then the only thing I can think of that might be happening is the automatically adjust player creation modifiers and/or league totals modifiers is checked, resulting in it importing 1876 settings once you start the 1876 year.... (and 1877 when that year starts.... etc. etc. etc.) I'm not sure but maybe if automatically adjust league totals modifiers was checked and your players had all been created with current day player creation modifiers (all 1.0000's I think) then this might result in too much offense... but again, not sure. Interesting.

EDIT: Actually I'm totally the wrong person to be answering such a question as I STILL haven't figured out a way to get what I want regarding stat outputs. In fact, I'm going to start another thread and ask my question too, maybe someone here can help both of us.

Haha, sounds good! In regards to your first suggestion, here's what I found -- on OOTP 2016, if you change the "Select Standard Settings" year, you can't change the "Season Start Date" year - they have to be identical. But, there's another option on a later screen to do the same thing, which I must have missed last time. I'm working on a test sim for that option, which hopefully will work better.
