Manager Handling Weirdness

I'm not sure if this is happening a lot, or I just noticed these two.
Last season, I let my manager leave when his contract expired. He had a Legendary status, had an insanely high win pct and plenty of championships, and his manager ratings were outstanding. I let him go because of how much money he was demanding. He immediately signed with a Single A team. I cancelled that contract and he signed a AA contract. (I then took over that organization and moved him to be their major league manager.)
Today, a team fired their manager, so I checked him out. Prior to being hired as a major league manager before this season, he had been a career hitting coach, never at the major league level, and his manager ratings are Meh. And he's 66.
Is anyone else seeing incomprehensible personnel moves?

Okay, another manager just got fired at the end of September. His ratings are great though his results haven't been. Anyway, he signed immediately as a hitting coach in Single A after managing at the Major-League level for two clubs over five years. I think something is wrong here.

Coincedence? I think not.

I think managers are just weird, IMO. I've seen guys go from my 3rd tier minor league with a lousy record to managing a major league club.

Team Owners are Crazy

Okay, two days before the end of the 2017 regular season, I get fired as GM of the Philadelphia Phillies. There's some logic to that. I've improved the team by 15 games over the previous season, but they are losing a bit of money (temporarily, I thought). Anyway, I see that the Seattle Mariners GM job is open, so I take that.

One day later, I'm fired again as GM of the Mariners, without having made a single move. I look in my mailbox, and I see that the Phillies want to re-hire me as GM!

In real life, I never accept this offer because I don't like working for crazy people, but I'd had a long term plan in place for the Phillies, and I really wanted to see it through. So why not finish what I'd started? So I'm back where I started, except that I've just changed all my bookmarks and now I have to change them back again.
