Can I replay the actual 2016 Southern League?

Hi all,

My basic question, I guess, is can I create a custom database that will replay the actual 2016 Southern League?

I know OOTP now has minor-leagues included in the game, but due to the daily changes in minor-league ball (personnel), it would be very difficult for OOTP to accurately keep up with and reflect the daily occurrences.

So if I have all the stats and transactions from the 2016 Southern League season, can I somehow set up a league/database to reflect this?

If so, I need to be walked through it, as I am admittedly a little "slow" on these things (I am a 56-year old stroke survivor who has found solace in baseball sims) . . .

Thanks in advance for any help!

When you set up a new quickstart, under the league settings, you can set it to not have the AI do roster moves. Then you can do all the promotions/demotions yourself.

As far as the stats, well no reason to import them, they will be generated based on the results of the in-game simulation.

All that being said, if you're a fan of a certain team, it may make more sense when you create the quickstart, just make yourself the manager of your favorite team, and not worry about the promotions/demotions. You can let those play out organically by what the parent ballclub needs or wants.

Kind of what was said above. Theres no need for stats because those are going to play out over the course of the season. Then as for transactions how they happened in real life they may end up odd since what happened in real life wont match what is happening in the sim. Youd get players who arent ready going up or vice versa.

What you can fully do is just set yourself as the manager of the minor league team and let the AI move guys around and deal with the changes while you manage the team. Or you you should be able manage promotions and demotions as you see fit.

Remember OOTP is a simulation it simulates what might/could have happened. It doesn't "replicate" what did happen even in historical mode.

Not in this version. The latest you can replay in historical mode would be the 2015 season. You can, as a previous post stated, set yourself up as manager of one of those teams. Playing with the actual players and transactions would require a great deal of micromanagement, since minor league transactions aren't in the database, but it can be done.
