Free Agent Logic

I hate when I offer a contract for what the player wants, but add an option or vesting clause. He will come back and add money to the deal and remove the option. What is with this logic. Like if he upped his price and kept the option fine or when you offer a guy a shorter contract, but he makes it longer and ups his price. The logic makes no sense at all.

It actually makes perfect sense. Not all players want to be tied up. Maybe they think they can make more on the market when the deal is up. They want their money and committed to as few years as possible.
