Minor Rosters Gone

I have been playing as the GM of the Atlanta Braves. I let my manager do the coaching and just handle rosters. I am in May, 2017 and watched a game. At the end of the game I had a disaster. A notice popped on the screen saying that my AAA team had an illegal number of players... 0. I have looked and all of my minor league players have disappeared. They are not free agents, they are just gone. The coaching staffs are still there. Just the players are gone. I checked some other teams and they still have their players. This kind of puts an end to my GM after over 200 games.

you can fill the roster with fictional players and at least keep your game going. (from team screen, click on minor leagues, and then on right side of screen "Available Actions" drop menu will give option to fill team with fictional player). won't help much on talent tho .... no idea why this happens, but it did the same to me one off season - but that was a few patches back ..... never seen it before or since (it MAY have been my assistant GM just released the players, or who knows for certain ...) ... . i took control of minors promotions and demotions, fired my Asst. GM, filled rosters with fictional players, hired a new Asst. Gm and so far so good.

Just curious, did you look in your transactions log to see if there was any mention of players being released?

Some people have noticed that occasionally minor league teams will simply not list any players, but they are still all there in the organization. We've never been able to figure out why it does that, but if you use the "ask AI to set up complete minor league system" button, they'll all show back up, and then you can re-arrange as you see fit.

I looked when it happened and there were normal transactions since I let my assistant promote and demote the minors at times. Most of the year I do it myself. The only thing odd I noticed real quick was that there were about six promotions from AA to AAA, but, not even those players existed as my entire minor leagues had zero players. Whatever the problem, this is one that needs fixed quick. Too many paying customers see this one and they will make sure OOTP has a bad reputation.

Thanks for the directions! Beats the heck out of trying to figure that out myself since I have TBI.

I used that fix and all the players are back. Thanks! Too bad it didn't get rid of just one player though. lol I have one that got a new contract and then regressed badly. Can't trade him as everyone says they won't accept trades including vastly overpaid players. If I cut him and replace him I likely don't make the owner's financial goals. I waived him and let him sit on the DFA list and try trading him now and then. Don't know what else to do with him. I'm in first place this year anyway somehow, so, fine for this year. Bummer is the new contract is for three years. I guess I'll release him and hope for the best. He is a SS and that is the one position my minors are vastly overstocked with four and five star players and I'm trading some away.

I learned what to do when it is my team. Now I have the problem of no players on a Baltimore Orioles minor league team. It is just four days before the draft, so, they may have emptied their DSL-2 team and cut way down on DSL-1 to make room. The problem is, I am stuck not allowed to advance from June 3rd as long as they have an illegal number of players. Now what do I do?

you can always add fictional players .... or POSSIBLY you could "Act as GM" for Balt. and see if the last way you got the players back worked ... (you get to Act as) under your teams GM settings .... pick the team you want to edit and then you can do whatever worked last time you got players back. JUST REMEMBER to go back to your current team (don't hit NONE) when you are finished... and i don't know if that will work, it should, but i've never tried it personally.

to get to add fictional players for whatever level .... that's under League Settings. In the middle boxes half way down "Fill Teams With Fictional Players. .... you need to be certain the drop-down menu on the far right (usually says Major League Baseball") is set the the league level you want to fill i.e MLB Double A (AA) or MLB Single A (A) for example. This will fill all the teams on that level with fictional players up to the limits of that league. (It won't erase any you already have.)

Thanks for that! I had to play around with both ideas, but, I finally got it to work. Initially filling with fictional players it was deleting the players again when I tried to do anything else. I got there though. I'm leaving it on as Commissioner mode until I am about ready to draft. No idea if it helped, but, I have the new patch on.
