Fan Reaction Emails.
Everytime I make an offseason move the fans hate it. I just traded my number 7 Starter from the minors and they are ready to jump off the Tobin Bridge. But the next email is how much they like the new guy. Is there any point or reason to these emails? Do they have an effect on the owner or team. I have one huge cog to trade id I decide to but ... I know it's only a game and I take it way too seriously.

Are you using the major league quickstart or is this a fictional league?

I have only seen that if the player has a popular rating. Careful though. I have minor league guys who have popular ratings. I also had an owner who insisted I traded my 3rd baseman who was overpaid and very popular. He was not what I considered a valuable player. Traded him and fans were upset. Used the freed up cash to get a decent 3rd baseman. Starting winning more games and ended up finishes first in my division. My fan ratings are good. The veteran I traded declined badly after the trade. I do what is best for the "team" like any manager should.

I'm with Curt. If you win games after the move that upset the fans, they'll get over it real quick.
You do need to consider the impact of attendance on revenue, though. Keeping that good, popular player you can't re-sign and then losing him for "nothing" in free agency might earn you some dinero at the box office during his last months on your roster, especially if he's helping you win. |

I've noticed that when it says "Fan interest almost crashed!" that could mean the needle moving down from 93 to 89, say. So it's not something to worry about and is likely to recover quickly with other player acquisitions and winning unless it keeps happening and affects, possibly, fan loyalty as well. Not sure how those two interact.
