Dead End Negotiations
Does anyone know why this keeps happening? For the past month, I've had the same conversation with this player.

Do you use the "Meet Demand" button? I had a loop with a player like this once and I realized that I was using "Submit Offer" button. Switching to "meet demand," for unknown reasons, worked.

One day later (daily sim) and guess what? Going on about a month of this, at least. I have been clicking "Meet Demand."

You need to go onto commish mode and just put him on your team w/ that specific contract.

i second what maus said... unless it's a clear mistake on the AI for asking for so little... if he matches the money just do it.
as long as it's kosher, don't feel bad about it. dumb question: you submitted it? usualyl click twice i think to get it done... never know... you dont have to reply to that, just rhetorical in case of rare instance of oversight. Last edited by NoOne; 08-28-2016 at 10:17 PM. |

I'd need to see league files to track it down. I know we have code in place to make sure that a player will demand an offer that they should accept, but it's possible that this has run into some weird corner case.

Thanks, Matt. Here is our league file (online league, so I definitely don't want to go in and edit anything myself as commissioner. Seems unfair)

I can confirm this happens every Offseason to multiple players/teams in our online league as well. And it happened in both '15 and '16.
What we've discovered is even though it says he wants more money, it's actually in "Pending" status. So if you don't submit anything else he'll eventually sign for that offer, so long as someone else doesn't offer him more of course. Really not sure what's happening for you. I click submit offer, sim like a week, and then he signs. No fuss, no problems.

Are they clicking "Meet Demand" and not clicking "Submit Offer"?
