Mine say "use recommended 4" Changed it to 2 like yours, and it still spins. No big deal. In the end, if 18 offers up new can't live without features, I will purchase it. Probably not till it's fully patched, but I will buy it. Right now, I will play 16 and use 17 if I want to do historical exhibitions.

Honestly, I'm not that interested in 17 to even go through that process. The lack of new features that affect the way I play coupled with the problems with 17 have completely turned me off from that version. The only way I'll get involved with 17 is only if I purchase 18 and want to convert leagues over from 16.

Remember Markus usually has a really nice World Series sale. Don't let my spinning cursor rant keep you from buying the game. Not sure how you play, but if you don't use short play by play/instant the spinning cursor deal would probably not bother you in the least. Some of the things I do really like about 17: The asterisks announcing a relief pitcher has just entered the game. I love this. The 3D stadium renderings are way better in 17. So much so, that I had no desire to use stadium pictures. The game recaps are really cool. I could live without the player quotes, as they get really repetitive and tired, but the statistical facts in the recaps are very cool. The game sims way faster than 16. I'm not a simmer, but if you want to test something, it's blazing fast.

In the end, if historical minors actually worked, I would probably be playing 17, but that feature was more frustrating than fun. The bright side the ground work has been done. I really hope when 18 comes out it's a fully functional part of the game.

It's far from just the spinning cursor thing you mention. I mainly play an MLB setup that I started in 15 that I sim day-by-day, so I don't even play out games. I also occasionally do some season replays where I do play out each game with short play-by-play, but I do not like or have any interest in 3D.

I worked in sports journalism for years (covered a minor league baseball team for two of those years), so the game recaps are woefully poor in my opinion based on what I've seen in screenshots and thread posts. So I don't want anything to do with them.

The only feature that intrigued me was the historical exhibition mode, and it doesn't intrigue me enough to make the purchase, even when the game is on sale. I'll wait to see what 18 looks like before purchasing a new version. 16 is running like a well-oiled machine for me, so I really have no incentive to change.

Thanks, I just don't want to be the reason someone passes on the game. That being said, at times we have to voice our displeasure or go unheard. If historical exhibition mode expands into a tournament mode that compiles tournament stats, I will be in heaven. As for 3D, I'm in the same boat as you. No interest.

Oh no no no, I'm sorry if I gave you the impression that you were the only reason. I do highly value your opinion since you're one of the long-time regulars, so I will admit it held greater weight than some other opinions. But the biggest reason by far is that the changes in 17 just don't interest me. But I have to agree that if historical exhibition expanded to a tournament mode that kept stats, I'd dive in head first.

I'm still playing 16 because I didn't see any features that would really change my fantasy league for the better.
