For some people, sarcasm is obviously a foreign language

I can confirm. I performed a fantasy draft of the 2016 MLB, taking over the Mets. I ended up grabbing Bartolo Colon as the 2578th pick. On June 15th, he hit a solo home run off of Rafael Montero. Like that could ever happen.

Look at Tim Lincecum's career. If he was a fictitious player, there are some that would be critical and skeptical about how the course of his career eventually unfolded.

So the word "crock" is coming to mind and I am wondering what OP was trying to say, or pull.

I don't know. Maybe it's me, then. But for the life of me, I cannot see the point in that case. Take a bunch of unexpected but real life situations, list them point by point, purport that these are results from his game, and then say how unrealistic the game is?

That's neither praising the game, because the whole thing was fabricated in the first place, nor is it criticizing the game because what he shows has no relationship to his actual results.

So, what was the point? Never mind, I am signing out of here. Too much time wasted on this nonsense.

Jesus Christ dude you're worked up over your inability to understand what OP was saying. He is praising the game by pointing out that real life results are often unexpected, so when people complain about players over/underperforming the game is accurate because the same happens in real life. I can't for the life of me understand why this is such a difficult concept...

I think what he was getting at was if all of those stats weren't real life, but actually in someone's OOTP league then they would be complaining that the game wasn't realistic. I guess his point was that these things happen in real life and isn't necessarily unrealistic in the game. He could have just worded the title and post a little differently IMO.

The point was that sometimes people complain that the game is unrealistic, so I posted these "unrealistic" real-life results to give some perspective and assurance to those who are concerned and frustrated by results in their game (and who among us hasn't been there at some point?) by showing that baseball is unpredictable and really does produce results that would be regarded as unrealistic if they were to show up in one of our games.

The point of framing it in a complaint was to give it some humor by spoofing one of those complaining posters and give a little wink to those on here who field such complaints about lack of realism on a fairly regular basis. I figured I would fool one or two people who wouldn't realize that what I posted were real-life numbers and we could have some fun with them, but I have to admit I didn't anyone to catch on right away but still not get it.

I've been a GM of the Cubs now for 83 years and haven't won the World Series yet. I can't imagine the game being any more realistic.

Thanks. I apologize for misinterpreting what you were doing, then losing my cool.

Not sure how well the game can predict the future, but if you want historical realism try a historical league.

What a crock!

This game is broken.
I could see something like this happening. Was he unhappy about the trade by chance?

I've played around with the settings for awhile and I'm always trying to get the most realistic simulation as possible. Just my opinion, and BTW no sarcasm intended here. Of course, I'm in a very good mood since my Cubs are in first place with the best record in MLB AND OOTP so I don't have a chip on my shoulder. I can just say that Markus and the OOTP Team have ALWAYS done great work with this game and with OOTP17 they have made the BEST version yet. I would suggest keeping the settings on the default, most of them anyway. Some of you might want to turn down the trade settings or injury settings, which is fine. Play the game any way you want. But as far as realism, it doesn't get any better than OOTP.
