Bug with new hotfix--DFA not working
This applies to leagues that do not have secondary rosters like international leagues. With the latest hotfix from Monday 8-9 I saw my AI Designate a player for assignment. I never had secondary rosters on so how could that be??
It seems now the DFA and secondary roster option has been separated from each other. I couldn't even find that player anymore on my roster so I had to turn on secondary rosters and change the DFA length to 2 days so I could see the player in the roster and transaction screen. I then turned off secondary rosters again and the DFA option disappears as well but the AI still places players on DFA. I can only set the DFA length to a minimum of 2 days there is no option to turn that off. This completely breaks my league. Can you fix? |

Yes, there was a change made to not have the AI release players if they could not find room in the minors for them, and instead DFA them. However yes, that would be a problem if the DFA is disabled in your league. This will be fixed.

As a temporary fix can you not just keep the Secondary roster on, but make it the same size as your Active roster? Would that cause any other issues?

Well, if there's no room for the players, they either have to release players or put them on the DFA. At least putting them in the DFA will give you some time to decide if you want to release that player, or someone else instead.

the bigger problem was that I didn't have DFA on but it still put them on it with no time limit so they were literally in limbo for 14 days.

Right, but the change was put in place to keep teams from releasing guys they maybe shouldn't be releasing. It seems maybe giving the AI a second chance to reevaluate the player/situation. That doesn't seem like such a bad thing. Not perfect for your setup, but having a DFA window until they fix this cascade issue that the original fix solved doesn't seem like a bad workaround.
