I'm playing as the Seattle Mariners in the normal game starting year 2016. My team record is 36-64 in August. Granted both top 2 pitchers Iwakuma and Felix Hernandez went down with injuries early in the season during May and now are just getting back. I still cant see how this team is 36-64. My batting stats are pretty much the bottom of AL ranked 14th and 15th in ALL categories with players like Nelson Cruz, Robinson Cano, Aoki, Seager, Daho Lee, how is this line up ranked 14th and 15th??????? I'm just wondering if the game has a default level its playing on like "hall of fame" or "super star" level. How can I adjust this. I dont think this is realistic!

So, a few thoughts:
OOTP is NOT a "replay" engine, so when you play a season, there's no guarantee it's going to mimic real life exactly. That said, obviously your team is doing significantly worse than their real-life counterpart. Don't underestimate the losses caused by your injuries. Those are some significant injuries! If you had two 20-game winners potentially, and replaced them with pitchers who are 10-game winners, that's a possible 20-game swing right there. (Fuzzy logic at best, but you get the idea.) Offensively, in real life, Seattle is 12th in AVG, 12th in OBP, 8th in SLG, 8th in OPS. Not worlds apart from what you are reporting. Another thing you can do is look at your Pythagorean Record (PYT). I believe it's on the Standings screen. If your PYT record is better than your real life record, it's an indicator that you are a bit "snake bit" and just having a tough run this year. All MLB players are hand-rated by individuals. The game doesn't know who Cano is, for example. It's possible that players in real-life are simply out- or under-performing how they were rated in OOTP. At the end of the day, this is why many people enjoy playing in fictional leagues - it frees you from the expectation that your players will perform a certain way. Not saying you should switch, of course, if this is what you enjoy... As far as adjusting, well, there's not much you can do unless you just want to "cheat" and improve the ratings of your players through the in-game editor, or something like that. Good luck! Another point to consider is who are the top teams in this iteration of MLB. It's a zero sum game. If any one or two of TEX LAA OAK and HOU are better than real life that will subtract from your results. What is your interleague record? What about vs AL East and Central. A few 70-win teams will hurt big time.
