Ah, Topps Vault roulette. I looked down my list of "missing" Mets and mentally circled Eilers, almost broke a finger heading to the KB images when I read he was there ... and he's only represented as an Astro. So it goes -- there are a million images out there and we know he was shot as a Met, so cross fingers until the next time the Es come round.

What Merkle is saying isn't that it's *impossible* to find such a photo, simply that the members of this forum are extremely unlikely to be able to supply one. There are many of us working on the post-expansion era, so we've checked the usual suspects. Certainly someone had a camera at the stadium during Ribant's seven-game stint with the Reds, so it may be *possible* to find a Reds photo of him, but Ribant/Reds is on the UIN (Uniforms I Need) list. If a player/team combination is included in the UIN list, or even more so if the player is on the Missing Player List, you're unlikely to have much luck finding them here, in Topps Vault or in a wire photo.

For anyone unfamiliar with the UIN/Missing lists, you can easily access all of them from the links in my signature. Asking for players or player/team combinations that are included in the lists is redundant. We're all looking for them.

Take heart. Topps shot him at Shea Stadium in 1965 and St. Petersburg in 1966 and as we all know, once they've opened a file they're eventually going to sell everything they have in it. I'd assume we see Eilers in Met garb by September 1 at the latest.

And as to Ribant, you asked about the photo, I answered about it. Of course Ribant pitched for the Reds briefly in 1969. Please - try to do participate here in some more meaningful way than just asking for images.
