Free Agents --> Draft Pool possible?

I've got several free agents that I'd like to put in the Draft Pool that's upcoming. I know I can schedule a draft for the FA but prefer this approach.

Is this possible, programmers - any way to tweak anything so they appear there instead?

TIA

I am not in front of my machine, but I think you can do this by going into the editor for each player. I think there's a checkbox or something where you can mark off that they are "draft eligible". Don't quote me on that though.

I saw that. It's "unavailable for draft lists" which I've always taken to mean they're protected in expansion drafts or whatnot.

Memory's a bit foggy on this one, as it involves the export/import of players. I think there's a column trigger for draft eligible or not, 0, 1, etc... but I'm not certain any longer just how viable the exp/imp options is for us.

Did an export - see nothing for that, tho.

EDIT: Importing player stats does erase L/R splits, tho. Yeah, I had a good copy first.

Yes, IIRC this checkbox is in the player editor somewhere and it's exactly the way I'd do this.

The box says "unavailable for draft lists."

Also, below that check box, guys currently on the draft list are laid out differently than free agents and other players who are not on the draft list.

Checking the box only removes Jake from the draft list but changes nothing for Roger.

EDIT: The only way I've found around this is to schedule a free agent draft, then the draft list players, as well as all free agents, are eligible for the free agent draft, thus nullifying the first year draft.

6/half-dozen I guess.

They are probably disqualified automatically because they have pro experience already. Try wiping out all their pro experience, remove their contract, and make sure they dont belong to any team (obviously).

It may still not work even with all this because it might also check for pro-level stats (probably not, but it might).

There is nothing programmers can do for you here unless we get access to the save database. There is probably some way to edit it, but honestly its not worth the work. Just make a new draft eligible player, and edit his numbers to match the folks you want in the draft; then delete the old player. You would need to do this to the database anyway assuming you had easy access to it.

Trading Injured Players

What are people's thought on this setting? I'm glad it's there, but I am wondering if it gives the human player an unfair advantage. I know this was tweaked, but I am still seeing teams offer up some pretty good talent just because the player might have a long term injury.

What are people's thoughts on this?

I wonder if a compromise is needed less than 7 days seems to little, while out for the year seems like too much. Maybe this setting should be adjusted so you can trade players who are out up to a month or two, but no longer.
