Used to buy my yearly OOTP here. Installed the 2 licenses : one at home, one at work (!).
Bought it on Steam yesterday, am I wrong or is there only one license? I'm not familiar with Steam by the way so that might be the problem!

With Steam you don't have to worry about counting licenses. You can install it on as many computers as you want, as long as you have steam installed on the computer.

Steam is without access to add on central. I tried even downloading a few quickstarts myself but it still tells me to go to add on central and all Steam has is Workshop and it's empty.
So I'll hold off giving a review cause that alone has made me already ask for a refund I'll wait till that's added before i buy it again |

I bought OOTP 17 on steam back around release... I would like to play on another PC but I do not have authorization to use steam on the 2nd PC....
Is there anyway for me to play my (purchased/owned) copy of OOTP on the 2nd PC, or am I out of luck because I purchased through steam... (Which would be very disappointing, as this is the first time I have ever used steam and this used to be really simple to do via flash drive) |

I can play OOTP on any number of computers I own. I can play on a computer I don't own. Not sure what you mean by authorization I simply use my steam account.
Can you explain what you mean please?

No that sounds like a problem with the computer. If it is unable to run Steam then your problem is with the computer manufacturer. I'm not being flippant I just don't understand what OOTPD can do. What does Steam tech support say about the problem?

Agree to an extent... I was really just hoping someone here might know something I don't... Hate that steam ties me to their client even after purchasing the game....
It looks like what I thought is the solution, which is I should not have purchased via steam and should have purchased directly through OOTP, is the solution .... As that makes using multiple machines a piece of cake... Last edited by braves2011; 07-07-2016 at 09:59 PM. |

Have you pursued help via Steam? If not can you say why? AFAIK Steam games can be played on multiple computers. Other posters have confirmed that. What feedback have you gotten from Steam?

I have not reached out to steam ... and you are correct... steam games can be played on multiple computers ....
As long as both computers have access to the steam client.... |

I'm trying to understand why you don't seek help from Steam. They must have tech support.

I can go that route... but according to all my reseach (including there forums) ... It is a requirement to have their client running in order to run the game...
But I do plan to contact them if I cannot find a suitable answer here... i do appreciate your input so far! |

OOTP can't, no matter how much they might want to, because it's nothing to do with OOTP
