Custom League/Historical Players?

Any way of taking a custom league I have set up. (From a template of mine) and getting say the 1981 MLB roster imported into it? (Ill have draft to allocate the players)

Start the 1981 historical replay. Import your custom league into it. Delete players from the league you do not want. Schedule a draft if needed. Might have to change the year for one of these. If custom league is at 2025 and you want 1981. i forgot what year it will say.

So start a 1981 historical league, then once made import custom league?

Or do I do the import custom during league set up phase?

I tend to import custom league after the historical is complete.
