OOTP 17 Update #7 - Version 17.9.60 HOTFIX available!

Important: This update is only for OOTP 17 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version.
It is NOT compatible with the Steam or Mac OSX AppStore version! The Steam update is available via the Steam client and the Mac AppStore version is pending review at Apple, which will take some more days.

Good morning!

We have just released the latest update of OOTP 17, version 17.9.59. The public beta (17.9.57) of this update proved to be pretty stable, but we still did a few fixes & tweaks since then, so everyone who installed the beta should install this update now as well.

EDIT: we released a hotfix today: 17.9.60 - it fixes a problem with the WAR stats

Here is the complete changelist (compared to update #6, version 17.8):
- Improved 2016 MLB roster sets, for example error corrections, added lots of player histories, fine-tuned international league rules (need to start new game for changes to apply)
- Improved 3D Animations (foul balls, cutoff relays, ground balls etc.)
- Updated 3D infielder positioning
- Modified fatigue calculations for relievers
- Improved trading AI speed
- Improved free agent AI and free agent AI speed
- Adjusted trade AI for injured players
- Fixed case where inaugural draft demands were wrong if playing with 0 ratings value AI evaluation
- Fixed problem where text data was not uploaded in online league file
- Fixed underflow case if league stats modifiers were incorrectly specified
- Fixed case where extreme high scoring games can continue forever
- Fixed bug where coach list filter items were causing application to exit
- Fixed budget calculations if using a hard salary cap
- Fixed finances for rescheduled games that switched home teams
- Clarified warmup for RTS games
- Unaffiliated college teams no longer give pro service to players
- Fixed several small bugs and cosmetic issues

Since the public beta (17.9.57) we have fixed the following:
- Corrected OPS+ for park factors
- Fixed 3D bug where balls would get past the outfield walls
- Fixed cases where throws would stop before reaching the intended player in 3D
- Fixed instances where the PbP did not match the 3D ball location
- Fixed error where waiver trades were not getting processed
- Fixed error where action would start before PBP pre-amble completes
- Fixed team top prospect lists

Update Info: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Where there any additions to the 3D animated flyball outcomes in the outfield?

I mentioned in a few posts back that you never see any flyball outs in the gaps (right-center, left center), no warning track flyball outs. etc... Sacrifice flys happen at medium to shallow depth. And, the outfielders always move toward the foul lines to make the catch.

Hope I'm not being annoying...

Haven't seen that specific problem in our testing, but we did fix a bug that was causing players to catch the ball in the wrong direction sometimes (ie. they would catch the ball in when it was supposed to be deep), so it's possible that fix could help you.

Outfield flies are much improved in both depth and location.

PBP also timed much better.

First of all, the installation of this update went MUCH more smoothly than previous ones -- it installed in about one minute instead of 20-30. Thanks very much for that!

I did have one issue, however: when I looked at my league's free agent list after installing, the vast majority of them showed OVR ratings of 80. After running a scouting recalc, everything looks normal, but I thought I should mention it anyway.

Hi guys! First of all, thank you for your work. I've bought three or so versions of OOTP so far and looking to purchase many more.

Steam downloaded the new update for me. It seems that some of my position players' historical WAR have increased dramatically--for example, my 3B with an OPS+ of 121 now had a 13.4 WAR season. My catcher with OPS+ of 99 had a 9.1 WAR season. My former CF had a 21.3 WAR season with an OPS+ 184. The prior WAR were around half of these levels. Interestingly, it doesn't seem to have impacted pitchers.

FWIW, I started this game with OOTP 16 and now I'm all the way in 2023. Let me know if I should post more info.

Thank you for everything you do to make this experience better and better. I can't even imagine all the hard work needed to fix some of the tiniest details. I am in my sixties and you have allowed me to relive my love for baseball by making high tech my old baseball cards, dice baseball, strat-o-matic baseball and various other games played back in the 1960's. Thanks again for everything you and your group have provided.
