Logos, Uniforms, & Stadiums to Historic Teams

I am trying to start a league of past World Series winners and I can get the league setup but they all have fake logos, uniforms, caps, sometimes the correct stadiums. I know how to change them, but takes time.

Am I doing something wrong? I am sure it has to do with the folders for each when I set up the league, but have tried a few things and can't get it to work. Can anyone help? Thanks

Are there any ways to get historic managers as well?

Thanks

If you start with an historical league instead of a fictional one, the stadiums should take care of themselves. You need to pretty much leave the team names alone, however. Don't be tempted to call the New York Yankees the New York (A) Yankees (as opposed to the New York (N) Giants to differentiate "New York" in news articles) because that is not going to work as well and you will be doing more stuff manually.

Regarding the logos and uniforms, I made new folders as you can see below. If you do the same, map the game to those folders as shown. If you don't change team names, then the game will import those items properly as the years go by (I assume you have access to the historical logo and uniform mods available on OOPTMODS.com).

What I have noticed, however, is the game importing the uniforms but not updating the players except in player profiles. If you see the same, then go to Game Settings, Players & Facegen and Update / Generate All Player Pictures once a year; at Preseason is best, I think.

Thanks for the response. So I am caught up where you say start w a historical league. When I try and do that, I don't know how to get various years teams in same league....Like say the 1927 Yanks and 1970 Orioles

I am using OOTPmods....is there one certain file for uniforms, caps, logos, ballparks I should be using?

There are two main sources of historical uniforms and caps - one for uniforms before 1970, and one for uniforms after 1970.

As far as importing teams from different eras, that's easy once you know where to look. And here's where you look:

Create a fictional league using the wizard. Set up the number of teams, league structure, however you like. Then, go to the next step, where it asks you to set up your teams. It'll look like this:

Oh yeah - make sure you set your league to "Not allow AI roster changes" afterward or you might find Babe Ruth traded for Brooks Robinson!

Thanks - yeah I know the historical team selection. But the poster above said to start w a historical league NOT a fictional league (if I read it right) that takes care of the stadiums. Didn't know how to get various teams across various season with "Historical League Creator". Maybe I read it compelely wrong.

I am going to try and figure this out as I am starting on brand new computer and downloaded all the add ons. So to get this right, I download the add ons from OOTPmods, put them in a folder. Then when I create the league after selecting the various teams from historical team selector I go to the screen that is shown above with the various database locations. Then I select the folders of the addons for each jerseys, caps, etc and they should all populate for each team/?

Will try and fool around if I cannot get. thank you for the responses and will post back regarding success or If I'm a total idiot an need more help.

About to give up. I really wanted OOTP for this reason and cannot get it to work. I get that I might be a complete idiot but seems like it should be simple enough to get logos, uniforms and caps right pretty easily. I set it to the right folders and thought I did everything right but nope. Ballparks came in, but not the right pictures, dimensions, capacity.

Someone please help.

I don't know if he realised you wanted to do historical teams across eras. Perhaps he thought you wanted to pick a certain date and play on from there.

Fictional league creator is the only way to import teams from different eras as far as I'm aware. Because, you know, such a league cannot exist. Not sure if the ballparks will come across with the teams, but you can always assign them manually from the team page.

Not sure about pointing graphics to particular database folders because I always assign those manually from the team page, too.

For imported leagues like that you will have to manually load all jerseys and logos. Easiest way to do this is have Gambo's historical logo pack downloaded from ootpmods.com and thhen when you go to select the logo use the filter option that will give you all the logos for just that one team.
Same for jerseys. I have No Pepper's / Ashante Warriors set mixed with Reds 1 2015 set for easy access.

For parks, the park itself is correct but the image may not be. Download Pstricket's .prk file. Its on add ons central. Might be still able to find it on the boards. And use the .prk file for the year and park you need.
Silvam has many old parks in 3D. Gambo has a historic photo set and ther5e is another really cool photo set called All 115.

Danny, this is what I meant by the before 1970 (No Pepper/AW) and after 1970 (Reds1) uniform sets. A must have for historical play.

The reason you can not get it to work is how jerseys & logos are named. caps_chicago_white_sox_1991-2015 is how 1 cap is labeled but when you have a imported historical team is says 1906 Chicago White Sox. So if the cap was labeled caps_1906_chicago_white_sox then it would work. You will have to manually load everything.
