How much can you edit?

I've never played OOTP before but I am considering buying this years edition but I have a question about how much can you edit and when. I've read you can edit player stats but can you do this mid-season during your career? can you also edit team details / finances, engineer player trades between AI teams (to keep rosters current etc.)

Also are the editors in game or third party?

Editors are in-game in something called Commissioner Mode.

You can edit whenever you want.

You can edit all those things you mentioned, plus a metric assload more.

Get the game, you won't be disappointed.

Should add, the game isn't really designed to edit stats. But you can import different stats.

True. You don't edit stats. But you can edit the ratings - and there is a place in the editor where you can change stats, which thus changes the ratings.
