2016 NCAA D1 Template

Edit 12/8/16: Seems dropbox has temporarily disabled my links cause I generate to much traffic. Til I can get that straightened out, use Kimchi's link in post 38 here:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post4050682

Here's the 2016 NCAA D1 Template:
2016 NCAA D1 Template
Extraction Instructions:
You might need 7zip to extract it correctly. It's free and the best.
Extract it to ootp's data/world_templates folder.
Note: If a player actually played in 2016, you will see an id number as a nickname. So be sure to turn off nicknames. This can be done on the game settings/players & facegen page.
I kept them in so one could easily find a player and update anything needed. I wanted them to show on their edit page in the Historical id entry, but couldn't figure out a way to do it without creating an actual database. If you don't want/like/need them, just export the rosters and delete them. Save and reimport and they'll be gone.

What's included:
1. One extra league called "Defunct" which does nothing but set the games start date as well as facilitate the moving of teams and players out of the NCAA from year to year without messing up the NCAA league.
2. All Conferences are in separate divisions as well as divisions within Conferences. Such as the Patriot's.
3. Real Teams (300) and players (approx. 10,000).
4. Real 2015 and16 Batting and Pitching stats. (I had to back date the stats 1 year else ootp will ignore 2016). I'll add the missing 2012-14 stats at a later date.
5. Fielding stats not included as most player fielding stats are combined for all positions and to time consuming to try and sort out, although I'd like to do so at some point in time.
6. No real schedule is included yet.
7. Opening day for the NCAA is Feb. 19. All teams play 60 games. Balanced. This can all be changed if you want just make sure to regenerate the schedule after.
8. Rosters are set at 35. 30 regular and 5 reserve. College team rosters vary in size so some have less but no more than 35.

Importing Template Instructions if you want/need to change any settings:
1. Start ootp and click New Custom Game
2. Click Create Real World League or Create Fictional World (skip step 3 if you click fictional).
3. Uncheck Major League Baseball and click Advanced Mode on bottom left.
4. Click Advanced Settings tab and click Import Template.
5. Click the 2016 NCAA D1.tpl file and load template. Wait for process to complete.
6. OOTP will default to the Defunct League. You can delete the Defunct League if you want. It won't hurt anything. Just click the Available Actions dropdown and click Delete this League.
7. Whether you choose to delete the Defunct lg. or not, click the Create New Game tab on top left again.
8.. Click the National Collegiate Athletic Association (highlighted in blue) on bottom left. (If kept, nothing needs be done with the Defunct Lg.)
9. Click each tab (Teams, Rules, Financials (turn off), Options, Players, and Stats & AI) and set all options and rules to your liking.
Note: If you chose to delete the Defunct league, then you need to Change the NCAA start date on the Options page to Jan. 7, 2016 else your game will start in Feb. not Jan.
10. When done, Make sure you've Named your game, starting year is 2016 and click Start Game.
11. Set your Manager data click Start Game and Enjoy!!
Note: When importing any template, the start date CAN'T be before Jan. 7 of any year. Start date is controlled by the leagues opening day in the schedule or what you have set on the schedule options page. At least that's how it was in my testing. I tried to many times to count.

Importing Template Instructions If you DON'T want/need to change any settings:
6. Click the Start Game Tab and click Start Game.
7. Set your Manager data click Start Game and Enjoy!!

If you find any problems or need any help, just post them here please.
Thanks,
Rod

Pics: College Photos, Backgrounds and more.
This is a 4 gigabyte file!!! Everything is in separate team folders and may have a few teams missing. All photos will need to be resized to 90x135 or 170x255. It's a grab bag of stuff, so who knows what you may find.

BigRod,

Would you upload the pics you mentioned? would save me alot of time later for facegen creation

Also a quick question...
why does every player have a number for a nickname?

Read the note at the top of first post as it explains the use of numbers and how to delete/not show them..
Give me some time and I'll upload the photos..there all in separate folders and some photos are pretty small size.
Edit:
Didn't realize how large this file would be..it's over 4 gig. and I don't have room on my dropbox account. I've got a lot of extra unneeded stuff in these folders...pdfs, background images, etc..so I'll have to pull out just the photos and see if I can get it under 200 megs before I can upload them..gonna take some time though.

you have a world templates folder somewhere..most likely hidden..try the finder thingy. I can't remember the exact procedure as I've never used mac, but it's here in the forum somewhere.
As for 7zip...here's the link for pc, linux and mac osx..just scroll down the bottom of the list.

go to /library/application support/out of the park developments/ootp baseball 17
under that there will be a folder called world templates.

To get to that point you need to go to finder and hit "go" and hold the option button..that shows the library folder and youre off!

I'm trying, but it's not an easy task. If anyone has or knows where I can get a clean schedule with no game results in it..that would make it alot easier.

too bad we can't delete draftees from the MLB game that would conflict with each other and cause duplicates

Just copy the draftee list on bbref or where ever and delete those needed to be deleted. That's what I do.

Yes. Make sure your in Commish mode and follow the steps below.

1. Click the NCAAA dropdown and click League Settings.
2. On the League Settings page in the Middle column, click Clear all Rosters. This dumps all players to the free agent pool.
3. Once done, click Fill Teams with Fictional Players.
4. Now you probably want to delete the Real players in the free agent pool so you need to Click the NCAA lg. dropdown, click Players, and click Free Agents.
5. On this screen, click the little circle next to Pos on the column headings. That will select all players in the free agent pool.Make sure the little circles are all filled with a white dot.
6. Right click any player and click delete players.

These steps are optional, but if you don't do these, it can cause problems later on as even though the players are no longer available, they're still in the database even though you can't see them.
7. Since there's more than 10,000 players you just deleted, I highly suggest you click the Game tab and select Game Settings.
8. On this page click Database tab.
9. On the top right, click the Database Tools dropdown and select Purge deleted records from database.
10. On the purge popup...type in purge and click OK and let ootp do its thing.
11. When done purging, close ootp and restart and ootp will have a clean database and all teams should be filled with fictional players.
Good luck and enjoy
