does contract year affect performance
So I've heard that players don't like to go to arbitration and it effects their moral either way after. What about if they are in their last year of their contract and they message me about an extension? If I don't take action right away does their moral get affected?

From my experience no, but signing an extension is very risky considering the money they demand can change over the course of the year depending on their performance, if a player starts out well in the last year I will usually sign them to a cheap 1-2 year extension. If the player is doing bad but it's a for sure bounce back candidate then I sign him to a dirt cheap contract.

I didn't realize that amount they ask for would change based upon performance.
Than I wonder why my with a 12-month injury is demanding a $35M/8year contract? I would say his performance while injured just plain sucks! |
