Hey, guys - Any ETA on when the next patch will be available?

Just having a bunch of issues with this one. Nothing major, but some crashes here and there, 3D has been kind of wonky with the current patch. Just curious about when its coming...

Please make sure that issues are reported properly, otherwise we may not be aware of something being a problem and won't get around to fixing it.

The current plan is to have a patch out sometime in the next couple weeks, depending on what else we need to get to and how much more stuff we can get in. We'll also make sure it gets a good run through to not have to release multiple times like the last patch

Thanks Matt. And next time I get a crash, weird error etc, I'll log it with you.

I assume 3D animation is constantly worked on to get rid of obvious things like catchers running into the outfield to field a grounder? Or, do you want us to log of all issues of that type?

Stuff like that should be logged shortly after patches come out, but once the same issue has been reported a couple times, no need to keep mentioning the same problems.

And yeah, hopefully the days of catchers and pitchers running to the outfield are done with.

The one thing that kind of bugs me is the lack of variety with outfield plays. Sacrifice flys are always shallow to medium depth. There are NO flyballs into the gap that are caught for outs, and no warning track flyball outs.

I see a bunch of weird plays, but I never log them because I'm very forgiving since it IS so complex. Kind of like, "Oh well, I'm sure they'll figure it out." But I'm hoping the next patch fixes some of that. I'm kind of standing down on OOTP until the next one comes out.

One thing I will say, If you look at the amount of updates/patches OOTP17 has had, I think it's pretty obvious how INCREDIBLY complex 3D is.

It's kind of you to be forgiving, but if you (not just you personally, everyone) could/would actually log and report weird stuff here it would be very helpful to Matt in making the game better and getting things sorted both for now and for future versions!

Which you already went through with Matt earlier in the thread! Don't mind me, I'm dense sometimes

You are never dense. You're a voice of reason among a sea of.... (can't think of a good noun right now)

Problem is, if I log stuff, I feel like a whiny complainer!

Well, I would suggest always using your judgement on when to log things. Especially with the 3D, I can barely get through a game without wanting something fixed, or seeing one play that has some weird bounces. But until we sell enough copies to hire a few more workers, we won't have time to fix everything.

But certainly if there is anything in the game that is causing troubles, causing you to put the game aside for stretches of time, gets you frustrated, etc... please do log them. I'd rather think that you're a whiny complainer but fix all the bugs than not know about problems. Of course, also be aware that just because something is reported to us doesn't mean we will get around to fixing them. I'd love to, but only have so many hours in the day

Thanks, Matt! And I hope your sales go through the roof.

Don't be discouraged.
Last year I tried 3D for my "play out all 162" league and switched back to text only after five games.
This year I am at game 50 playing every inning in 3D and do not see myself switching back to text.
I chuckle at occasional strange animation, and move on.
No doubt about it HRs at key times are more dramatic now, and WP/PBs make me cringe as the ball heads for the backstop.
I'm in.
It will only get better from here.

How many more copies do you need me to buy?

OK,

I just saw my pitcher make an INCREDIBLE play from center field! It was ground ball scorched up the middle. My pitcher raced all the way out to the center field wall, scooped up the ground ball, then riffled a throw from deep in the outfield all the way to first base to get the runner. AMAZING athletic ability!

Seriously, I'm not sure if this would be an official 3D glitch log, but that's what happened. What other info should I provide?

I can't believe how great OOTP is with constant patches.

Maybe my standards are too low but I'm perfectly happy with the current version of OOTP and would keep playing it until the new release next year - without complaint.

The fact that you are constantly making improvements is great.

Yes. That's what keeps me coming back every year.

OOTP does a great job!

We've fixed that one by now, so no need to worry about reporting it. After the next patch, any movement issues should follow the instructions here: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ic-issues.html
