Question about force start

If you hire a manager who DOES NOT allow the GM to control lineups/depth charts/pitching staff, can you still use force start? If so, why? If not, it's working the way it should IMO

You can't, but the Billy Beane method still works. Demote or trade a guy if you don't want him playing.

Billy Beane: You can't start Peña at first tonight. You'll have to start Hatteberg.

Art Howe: Yeah, I don't want to go fifteen rounds, Billy. The lineup card is mine, and that's all.

Billy Beane: That lineup card is definitely yours. I'm just saying you can't start Peña at first.

Billy Beane: Well, I am starting him at first.

Billy Beane: I don't think so. He plays for Detroit now.

Art Howe: You *traded* Peña?

I have re-visited this, and from what I can tell, this may be working properly, but not designed well. If a manager does not allow the GM to meddle, there should be absolutely NO way to force start players.

I think that one way you can force a start is by checking the "GM-only users are always in control of lineups" box under "Coaching Staff Settings."

As a GM only, I would have preferred not having to resort to this, but my manager seems to have a thing about certain players and starts them above others whose stats are infinitely superior (I play stats only).

there's also a "prrevent ai from changing roster.." or the like in Team Settings. commissioner mode must be on to see it, i believe.

it will not revert any of your edits.
