All bluejays league

what I would like to do is set up a league containing only players who have played for the bluejays from their best seasons as a jay. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?

ideally I'd just let the computer draft the players onto teams, but im assuming I'd have to select all the players manually and which season instead of blacklisting all players except those who have played for the jays?

Start a new Custom Game - Create Fictional League - Select the amount of teams you will need minus 2016. (i have a way to get 2016 in)
In Step 2 Switch to Historical team selection.
Since the year is listed as teh aabbreviation you will have to manually load jerseys and logos.
To get the 2016 Jays. Delete everything not related to teh Jays and save it as a template under League settings - Global settings - Available Actions - save As Template. then add this template to the new league - It's gonna take awhile.
Now i have every White Sox & Cubs playoff team + 2016.

Or create a text file of all players from their best seasons as a Jay and import them into the game and schedule a inaugural draft.

I'm confused about that league. If all teams are bad, nobody is.

that's all relative, number 4. someone will be the best ... ... of the worst

relatively speaking, the bluejays are a very successful major league club. they are ahead of the curve in winning their share of WS titles, if i recall correctly. so, using that metric they are at least in the top-half of clubs.

and, you may not use Jack Morris. he is a detroit tiger!

that weird-o, dominos ceo, bible-thumping owner ruined my team for 20 years. i wish he had moved to his little failed christian commune and left the tigers alone.

I was going to make it a 12 team league first and see how it plays. I wanted to just randomly place guys on each team so you could have Dave Steib pitching to Jose Bautista, and Devon White robbing Jose of a HR.

assuming I want a 12 team league, I don't think your first suggestion will work, unless there is a way to select all those teams but not make the league with 40p+ teams.

So how do I create a text file? I realize this will be quite time consuming and figured I was going to have to manually select which season I want from each player.

thank in advance.

How do split seasons work. For example David Price from 2015. is there two different version of that player? like a full season and a version of only his tigers stats and only his bluejay stats or is there only one version of the player in the game file?

why would I run out of players? if I ran the league I would use the same players from the same years again? until the following baseball season when a debuting player may be able to bust into the league or a player has a new career year

If there is, i have no clue how to import him like that.

Another suggestion is to import all Blue Jays teams and delete the duplicates and this year's team could also have Leiter,Price and so on in Starting Rotation,White,Carter in OF,Alomar would be at 2B meaning Travis if makes Roster off the Bench.
Iv'e tried to do it with Royals by adding all teams from 1969 to 2015 but not getting full Minor League Teams and would have to go few all Teams and move over who played for the Royals before who is either Retired or playing on a different team or is a Free-Agent takes long time.

If you wanted his rating to reflect the stats only as a blue jay, go into the editor, enter the stats, and use the button to adjust current ratings to stats

I'd have to do that with every guy I feel like and that is a lot of work. it is not ideal but its a compromise I'm going to make to save time.

Its great the game has those editing abilities making the options limitless.

When importing the players import rosters or player stats? I've never tried this before so im very much a noob so any steps to making this easier would help me a lot.

I created a quick league just to see how to import the players? where do I write them in here? under free agents? i took all those players you can for the white sox and tried to put them under file agents just copy and pasted them and it caused an error and the ootp shut down. so i did something wrong.

No clue what all that is. Just import them as FA. If you ewant them on a team use the team abbreviation based on what the game has them as. So maybe the 2012 Jays are 2012?
