Can't view player photos?!?!

Yes, I viewed the FAQ about player photos, and no the FAQ does not apply to my case. You see, OOTP5 (on my machine, anyway) refers to players as <insert number here>.bmp, so I don't know where the FAQ writer is getting the idea that player names are referred to by OOTP5 as <first name>_<last name>.bmp ..... perhaps someone could shed some light on fixing this?

Not exactly sure what you are referring to but the photos need to be in the following format:

"firstname_lastname.bmp"

And in case you haven't done so, you need to go into league setup, then advanced setup, and click on enable player photos.

player photos

Please allow me to clarify.

I have indeed "enable all player photos", but where the player photo should appear it instead says that the image could not be found. All the images are named in the following format:

{insert number here}.bmp (i.e., 124.bmp)

as indicated by the error message. So, I am not sure where you all are coming up with the images having to be named in the following format:

{first name_last name}.bmp (i.e., Adam_Dunn.bmp)

Thanks,

tmwhalens

Exactly! Why are people here saying that player phots are in the format of FIRST_NAME.bmp when they are in the form of pNUMBER.bmp ? Are the ones making suggestions on how to fix the player image issue using an older version of OOTP?

I think either one works. All of the player photos I have are "Firstname_Lastname.bmp", and they all work just fine. I think the game also accepts the pNUMBER.bmp format for generated players...but it's a lot easier to match up the pictures the other way.

But I know from experience that Firstname_Lastname.bmp works just fine.

Where's DraftDodger or TigerFan when you need 'em?

How come it isn't working for me?

I have enabled all player phots in League Setup -> Advance Setup -> Enable All Player Photos, and

put all images in my league folder -> Photos directory as follows:

D:\400 Software Studios\OOTP5\Career 2003.lg\PHOTOS

Never mind, I found the problem. I had put the *.bmp images in the wrong league\photos directory.

i only use the "bob_smith.bmp" format for my photos, this way i know which photo belongs for everyone...

click on a player page....does it say "enable photo" where his picture should be?

try saving the files as p123 and not p123.bmp

try clicking enable all photos after you put a new picture in the photos folder.

I think what that does (the player names .bmp files) is allow the current players use that file until they retire and once that happens, no one else can use that pic.

However, if the p#.bmp file is used, anyone who has that player number in the game can cycle through that number after the player retires.

I could be wrong or have explained it wrong but it sounds right in my little head
