Randomize Cities in State Leagues

I created a New York state league using United States Region- New York. The cities were all New York cities, but none of them were actually New York city. There was no Brooklyn, Queens or any of the burrows. I randomized and still no really big cities. I played it off that maybe I just didn't hit it enough (because I continued to do it for 10 times).

Then I created a North Carolina one and there was no Charlotte.

I am wondering why the bigger cities aren't being created when I randomize the state league. Is there a reason or is there something I'm missing?

I made each league Major League Level.

Strange. I've done NC-only leagues and I always seem to get two or three big cities (if not Charlotte, then Raleigh, Greensboro, Winston, Wilmington, etc.) along with a bunch of random ones.

This shows why I don't use the randomise function, just pick what I want. I also hate the automatic evolution for that reason.

For the state of New York, the world_default.xml doesn't list all the five boroughs on there because its going on the notion that they are incorporated into the city of New York itself. Such as the Yankees in the Bronx and the Mets in Queens, but being labeled under New York, New York.

The exception is Brooklyn, to accommodate for the Brooklyn Dodgers for anyone who does historical. You can edit the xml or just change the name location if you want a team there.

Or, if you're interested in a New York State league that just how happens to be a ten team league, check this out for a frame of reference.

But 100% agree, that it is strange. Usually whenever I do regional settings, such as the California or West Coast, I've yielded results from usually large, mid-size or prominent cities.

Hope this helps!

I remember a few versions back when you couldn't start a fictional league without getting Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens as OOTP suggested teams. 16 did away with the New York obsession and replaced it with one for Texas.

Probably just a small sample size thing.

I am actually creating all 50 states as league. I'm starting the games on January 7th and playing 82 games. At the end of the 82 games, I'm going to select the all-star teams for all 50 leagues and then put them on a State team in a separate league and play another 82 game schedule.

It has been a pain so far. But I will write a dynasty about it and share with everyone the league. Probably just do one season since it is such a pain, but it should be a great sim.

How do you find game performance time with such a large league? I have never wandered from a typical MLB setup....I plan on a 50 state league with full minors.....

On my gaming computer it works pretty well. On my work computer it takes quite a while to run.
