Default Player Origin in Leagues with Feeders

My grand idea to merge two indy leagues with my ML did not work well, so I restored from a backup. I'm going to expand the league gradually by adding these teams in 2 and 4 at a time, but that's a different story.

Looking through the settings of my restored game, I see that the default player origin for my ML has changed from the original settings (see new settings below). Not sure how it happened, but the question is, does it matter?

My ML is entirely fed by feeder leagues whose default player origins are set up the way I want. So, does it matter what my ML player creation settings are?
